  1. I think the most recent Lego Catalogue is a clear indication of success for the Middle Earth lines. I am certainly not saying that they did not sell, however we do not know details such as how much it cost TLC to procure the rights to do the lines. They may have paid a premium hoping that the 2 (at the time) Hobbit movies would be as big as the LotR movies and even with a 3rd movie that seems unlikely to happen. I wonder if it would be worth something to an online store to purchase the rights to make specific molds and sets as well. Lego is not the only company out there and it appears at a cursory glance online that there are quite a few LotR Lego collectors. Speaking of other companies, I wonder if one of the bigger competitors like Kree-O would jump on this line after? Perhaps market it as a Middle Earth line to avoid seperation of the movies and bring sone of the sets that were missed?
  2. Agree with what most of you guys are saying. The minifigs were great across both series and some of the sets (Helms Deep, Hobbiton) however it's really the sets that we missed out on that hurts. Again though thats pretty consistent with other series as well. With the exception of Star Wars and maybe Indiana, all series suffer from what ifs.
  3. Assuming it is done and we have seen the last of Middle Earth in Lego format, what would you guys grade the effort? While I think it has been a real mixed bag, when I compare it to other lines it seems pretty consistant.
  4. I certainly don't post here everyday but I do come here almost everyday to read what people are saying and in hopes to hear some new info about future LoTR sets. So in that regard please keep this thread open. I am not an expert on Lego by any means but the LoTR sets seem to be the same as most Lego lines. While their are some great features to the LoTR lineup such as the detail on the Minifigs, there is some poor choices like certain sets. This is true for all lines but is really exemplified in the LoTR lineup due to it being so small. The reality is even if there is another wave it will be a mixed bunch at best as well. That being said I really hope they do another wave as overall I have been pretty happy with the lineuo.
  5. Hey guys. This is my first post here. I have supported most of the LotR sets for Ideas and at the very least I hope it shows Lego that there is still some demand for this line. Plus I would love a "Threebeard" set as well. lol
