I'm away for the summer. I can share psd, lxf, etc; when I'm back

I created several for my MOCs BB-9E R5-D4 Too bad i have an awful printer and its "black" ink is more of a very very dark grey colour :-(
-
Good afternoon, I found this topic recently and I wanted to have my own R5-D4 at home. I made it out of the new R2-D2. I took the design in this original post and modified it a bit. I have my own LXF file if anyone is interested. Also, I have made the sticker from a template I found in the forum. I have the Photoshop (PSD) file in case anyone is interested as well. Any comments are welcome. I'm not particularly happy with the "neck" and I'm thinking of a redesign when I have the time. Here's how it looks:
-
First of all, I wan to thank Space_jaco for his design. It's awesome. I have bought all pieces and built it. It looks awesome next to my BB-8 While building it, I had some problems. For example, with the mechanism to make the head spin. I have added extra pieces to make it more stable. I thought I would share the changes (Note: I put a penguin figure because sw855 is still not available in LDD): https://www.dropbox.com/s/daplsu4r5lmc4fk/BB-9_Final.lxf?dl=0 Also, I thought we needed the UCS sticker for BB-9E, so I tried doing one myself. My photoshop skills aren't good at all. I've included also the PSD file in case you want to modify it yourself :-) https://www.dropbox.com/s/lrsn7piue5uklfh/BB-9E UCS Sticker.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/j4m30f1bdc3htl9/BB-9E UCS Sticker.psd?dl=0

I have bought a couple of Star Wnrs Lepin models. And I've also bought a couple of Enlighten wagons. Enlighten's quality was passable because the wagons I bought didn't have too many pieces. But one of them which had a few more showed the problems of this brands: sizes of bricks are not consistent and it was difficult to a point to make all pieces fit and that the model didn't fall apart. Lepin's quality is much much better. It's far from being Lego quality, but it's very very good for the money you pay. I bought a couple of AT-ST for 1/3 of the price of the original Lego one, and they look very nice on my shelf. The only thing I dont like at all from Lepin is the "transparent" pieces. A link was posted before with a comparison of the pieces and I agree that Lepin's transparent pieces are foggy.

Thx for your tips. I think i'm not only "green" in terms of building methods but also in terms of proficiency with the LDD software. I was copying the containers as an exercise, and I cannot make the doors close >_<!!!! I'll keep trying, haha. When I'm done with the doors, I'll try to guess how the sides were built =] Cheer, Gololo
-
Well, I would really appreciate it if you shared the files for the containers and the gondola wagon carrying them, and also the sheep car. I am back to Lego after almost 20 years of absence and I'm a complete noob at building techniques. I've been experimenting with LDD to develop a knowledge, but I'm still far away from being able to make a complete design by myself

Any chances you would be sharing your LXF files?

I'm not too much into minifigures. If you can get it for 170$ without them, go ahead. If you're particularly interested in any of them, most likely you'll be able to get them for less than the >80$ difference you talk about

I mailed TLG about 1 week ago and got no answer. I have called this morning to the freephone for Spain: 2 operators (mobile and landline) say it doesn't exist. Tried from work SIP phone and got rerouted from Spain to DK then to the UK. The agent was surprised to receive a call in Spanish, haha. But going to the point, the agent spent about 5 mins looking for the reference. He told me he couldn't find just the stickers (they were bundled with the instructions). But he spent some more time looking and found the internal reference. It wasn't easy to find apparently

As I said in a previous post, I have "bricklinked" 2 trams (lego-8404 type) in red and yellow colours. I have motorized them and they work very well on the train tracks. The only little problem is that the small train wheels are very noisy =P Maybe I could lubricate them... I'll have to look into that....
-
OMG 170€!! I'm only interested in the Tram! I think i'll bricklink that one when parts become more available. I have built 2 trams (from model 8404) in red and yellow and motorized them. They look awesome :D
-
I like the design of the tram. I'm only ... disappointed this is going to be difficult to 'motorize' :-(
-
Could you post some pictures. I'm curious to know how you did it :-) Cheers, Gololo

Received my Slave I 2 days ago. Waited till Saturday to enjoy a slow build while watching TV or listening to music... So I open the box and..... HALF OF THE STICKERS ARE GONE. Weird! Most of the stickers in the sheet are missing. I checked the bag and the box and it's not been manipulated. I used a couple of stickers and then I checked the sheet trying to see the reflection of light on it. You can see where I removed the stickers (smoother surfaces) and the rest of the sheet where there was never a sticker to begin with :-( I'm very disappointed I couldn't finish the model today completely. I have emailed the Lego service and I'm sure they will send a replacement, but after a 1 week wait (it was out of stick) and 2 weeks more for delivery (I have no idea why the postal service in Spain kept it for >1 week in their offices O_o!?!?) I have to wait yet ~2 more weeks for the stickers :-/

Nah, I'm not able to reproduce your layout in Bluebrick perfectly. I'll guess I'll have to try some more nights. Hehe :-) Thanks anyways

Hi Udo! Love your trains! I don't think I'll be able to afford MOCs for the foreseeable future. At this point, I'm happy building extra carriages for my Lego trains and playing with different geometries. About the geometries, I really liked the corner you have in your layout. I've tried to reproduce it in Bluebrick, but I'm unable to do it. I can't make the tracks fit withuot "forcing them" and I dont really like to do that. It may be the time of the day (4:25am), the fact that I'm doing this while I do my night shift at work (don't tell my boss), or most likely that I'm really new to the Lego Train world (just 3-4 months, hehe~). Any chance you can share your layout in BB or similar? As you can see in my printscreen below, I can't make it fit! :-)

Kickstarter: ME Models Tracks for both metal and ABS only track pieces
gololo replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
@Eric & Mike Thansk for your quick responses. I'll give it a thought. I'm a little short on money at the money and I'm torn between more tracks or completely ruining myself for my bday with the new SW Slave-I Cheers, Gololo -

Your web did calculate the postage. But my finger slipped. It was not >60$ but >50$. To be exact 58$ for about ~60$ worth of tracks (2xDouble length + 2x 56R curves set). =] -

I was very excited. Went to the web to order some track... then didn't. Shipping to Spain > 60$ for 60$ worth of track. I will have to save some more before attempting a purchase >_<!!! -

Hi Eric, When you start making the goods available for general purchase, please let us know here! :-) I'm one of those who was late for the KS campaign and would like to buy some curves and straights hehehe -
Whatever Lego releases for Trains in 2015 I hope there's the possibility to buy carriages separately. I got 2 HEs and they look cool together, but with 2 more wagons it would look awesome.

Hi, I'm quite new to this forum and mostly I read all the entries but never comment. Recently, I came to visit my parents and went to look for my old Lego sets. They are in a very poor condition. Many pieces are missing, many are bitten, many lost their original color... But I had very good memories of the "amazing" set I had when I was a kid: Legoland Shell Petrol Station #6371. I decided to try to salvage at least the pieces for the blue car and the small tow truck. And I succeded, haha. So I've decided to include them in my current Lego set collection. I have made a small, simple MOC of 2 very small motorail cars to carry these ancient pieces of my youth. I have ordered all the pieces (but the cars) in Bricklink and I am hoping I'll be building them this week :-] I made a render with LDD of my design: Known issues: - Car tires are not the original ones. Part 122c01 is not included in LDD anymore, so I used the closest I found - The hook (part 3135) is not in LDD either, so I used a build I found browsing around some time ago. I am afraid I can't give credits for it. Sorry. All and all, not impressive at all, but this little MOC is more about the sentimental value than anything else.

I've started collecting Lego train only about 4-5 months ago. I've got my hands on: - Horizon Express - 60051 (x2) - 60052 Additionally, I bought the necessary pieces in BrickLink to build the tram in Lego model 8404 but in red and yellow colours. And I have motorized them. They are pretty quick! Haha!

Unfortunately enlighten has stopped producing their train sets not long ago. It's now very difficult to find any stock. I got some through Aliexpress about 2 weeks ago, but.... I've been trying to locate more since without any luck. In eBay you can see some sellers offering enlighten track sets, but to be honest, they are now more expensive than Lego's O_O! PS. Straights and curves are OK, but the enlighten switches I got were not good at all. Stay away from those ;-) By the way, now that I said myself that Enlighten tracks are not available anymore... Can anyone recommend any other cheap brand? I think Ausini tracks look very much like englihten's but Ausini trains are very hard to find @__@! And they are almost as pricey as Lego's
