  1. It's possible as well that these are just lazy renders. Look at this render of Toa Ignika for instance: I can't even begin to list off the things that are wrong with this FINALIZED RENDER and the number of pieces inexplicably missing from it, but needless to say at this point, I'm not sure the renders are anything to go off of when counting small pieces. Nevermind the possibility that the numbers themselves may be off.
  2. Indeed. Although upon closer examination, it seems a lot of the others have the same armour on top of armour situation. It's just less noticeable.
  3. Slightly off topic a second. I'm not at all familiar with CCBS or how Hero Factory sets are usually built since I admittedly stopped paying it any attention after the first wave. So I'm coming from the standpoint of a complete noob when I ask; is it not weird/excessive that Kopaka has armour/shells on top of other shells? And at that, white on top of gold. It's not just excessive, but it's apparently also backwards. O_o What I DO like however is that some of these sets have translucent neon bone and hand pieces. I'm not certain why I like that so much, but I do. :P
  4. I imagine the more likely explanation is that hard as it may be to believe, these images are older than the previous leak. See, a lesser known image was released along side the first one which consisted of a chart showing all the boxes, (albeit very blurry) and their respective sizes. The boxes without backgrounds in this batch of images exactly matches those on that chart, which tells me that these are actually the oldest images yet produced, rendered even before the first leak. This of course means that "Skull Krata" is an outdated title, and that the more recently known Lord of Skull Spiders is the finalized set name.
  5. You forget that Von Nebula was played by Mark Hamil. Idk about you, but I think that's kind of a big deal. :P
  6. I've noticed a consistent through the different leaks that it does seem to use a different variant of the Trajan Pro font. Either that, or it's just bold and slightly squashed. Either way, it has been changed ever so slightly, yes.
  7. The animated SWF contained each layer individually. He likely used something like JPEXS to decompile it.
  8. The only reason things are approximately to scale between 06 and 09 is because damn near everything from 06 to 09 used the Inika build. Kinda hard to mess up scale when everything is the same anyways. Besides, I don't buy that sets only have to be to scale within their respective waves since in canon, they're all seen together anyways.
  9. Ah, my mistake about them I guess. I actually forgot all about that image. The scale however was never really a factor for me since the sets almost never accurately represented in universe scale to begin with. More likely the Toa would only be larger under the pretense that Lego wanted them to be the main focus of this new line. Regardless, I think the Adaptive Armour theory could still hold water.
  10. I'm going to be the odd one out here and try to explain how they could get away with this being a continuation rather than a reboot. "When in its default configuration, the adaptive armour reverts to a state similar to the ordinary armor of its respective Toa." One can safely assume that the Toa Nuva exchanged their Nuva armour for the Adaptive Armour. If that is in fact the case, (which is backed up by BS01's claim that Stars Tahu is a vague representation of the armour in its default state) then it can also be assumed that in its default state, the Toa Nuva would more resemble their Mata forms... or these sets here. Lewa's drastic redesign could be attributed to the fact that he's currently in the Bota Magna region, and his armour is currently in jungle form. Some of the others are slightly harder to explain, but I imagine that would be dealt with early on. Slightly more farfetched is the idea the the "Defenders/Protectors" could possibly be The Element Lords.
  11. Hmm.. surprise surprise, the site Meso linked to has removed the listings for the new sets. The coverup continues! If anyone's interested in doing some further digging, I still have Tahu's EAN number, but unfortunately I didn't snag any of the others: 5702015350419 EDIT: This kind Reddit user managed to back up the entirety of every listing's description prior to the takedown. All EANs are present and accounted for, along with the rest of the technical information. As you were boys and girls! :P http://www.reddit.co..._ag_has_listed/
  12. Honestly, I consider these changes to Bionicle an interesting experiment into my own thought processes regarding a franchise so close to heart. I often wonder if Sonic The Hedgehog were as beloved to me as it is to some other people in my age group, if I too would act like the crazy, entitled jerks often seen in comment threads regarding the newer games. This may just allow me to answer that question, and if nothing else, I'm excited about that. That does bring to mind one troubling thought though; I wonder how much this is going to divide the community. I can see this easily turning into a classic vs. modern situation à la Sonic, with neither side being satisfied with the opinions of the other, constantly at each other's throats over the slightest disagreement. It's not a situation I'd like to see repeat, but it's already happened on a smaller scale with Hero Factory.
  13. I noticed that all of these listings seem to have an EAN attached to them. Not that there's much doubt left, but out of curiosity, I looked up the numbers on POD, and while I can't find any listed data pertaining to the products themselves, (it's all unlisted and in fact says the now infamous "coming soon" line..) this site was able to link it directly to a specific person at Lego as the owner. Jens J. Meisner to be exact, if that means anything to anybody.
