  1. Hey all - I attended NYTF, and the Universal Preview event from Friday Universal confirmed that we have yet to see everything Jurassic from LEGO, and that we should keep our eyes on the horizon both near and far. I won't lie - I wasn't super impressed by the sets. There is nothing wrong with them, they're just not that unique nor do they feel as varied from the 2015 sets as I'd like. Anyhow, we uploaded another gallery to Facebook here, featuring some detail shots of Lockwood Estate I have yet to see:
  2. Mattel wanted to show off their JW lineup sooner, but Universal said not publicly til Feb. Toy Fair -- I imagine the same applies to LEGO, sadly.
  3. By that argument, why not make the Raptors the same size as the Tyrannosaurus? A little variety never hurts, and only adds to the play factor - I was just trying to illustrate how a mid size mold could go a long way and not be a one hit wonder. Plus, it offers more price flexibility. From what I saw, I believe it used the Indominus arms but was all new otherwise - it's a new large tier sculpt.
  4. What LEGO needed to do was create a new mid-size Dino mold.. they could have used the body and legs interchangeably with new heads an arms for dinos like Carnotaurus, Allosaurus, and Baryonyx. Excuse the crude mock-up
  5. To be fair, that article is mainly tailored to Jurassic fans, and not those who follow LEGO - so for websites like this, some of the descriptions may fall flat. However, when it comes to the Carno, what color would you call it?
  6. I bought mine from Toys R Us .com. Last week the sets were listed- for like 5 minutes. I assume that's where the eBay users received theirs as well.
  7. I was lucky enough to get a hold of the Pteranodon Capture set early! For those interested, I did a video unboxing/building/review: I really dig this set. I desperately need to find the other sets now, haha
  8. Yeah, I won't lie.. the sets look nice, but rather phoned in. I expected a little more. At least they aren't super low quality like the Hasbro offerings, which overall are awful.
  9. What are the chances of there being Polybags sold at stores? Considering the Raptor Escape set and preorder sets weren't shown at Toy Fair I'm hoping for another surprise or two. Also, don't forget.. apparently a classic JP Jeep was shown off behind closed doors.
  10. While the Dilophosaurus was originally intended to be that small, some speculated it could have been a juvenile. It seems they went that route, and the Dilo's in JW will be a larger animal. That, or they will be just as small, but the larger dino was better for the set.
  11. What really bothers me is the game as Gallimimus, and they actually look like JP Gallimimus.
  12. I am really upset there are no herbivore sets, nor structures based upon locations in the film. I really would have liked at least one semi film accurate building set. I hope the JW theme is successful so we get more in the future. That is NOT a Gallimimus, pure laziness on their part by calling one. Hell, they didn't even try to give it an appropriate paint app. They should have just called it a Compsognathus and ran with that. I would expect a mistake like this from other toy companies, but not lego. Weird.
  13. I strongly dislike how orange the actual Lego T-Rex is. The game got it right IMO! ^Those colors are really close to her film appearance:
  14. I am bummed none of the sets have any recognizable locations/buildings. I would have liked to see the new visitors center, or something else visually iconic.
  15. Pretty sure the Italian catalog says these are coming in May.
  16. I really am curious about the Dilophosaurus ambush set, and what its setting is.
  17. Exciting times! I just can't believe Lego themselves hasn't really acknowledged the Jurassic World license via any standard outlets such as their own website.
  18. So, what are the chances of more detailed set information or pictures (I know they aren't allowed to be taken..) hitting anytime soon? I'm really interested to see these! I hope with those prices that they're fairly substantial.
  19. Any new info on the sets? I saw Age of Ultron set descriptions and pics were out there, so I figured Jurassic World may be on the way. Tons of Hasbro pics have been hitting.
  20. YUP! 75915 Pteranodon Capture, 75916 Dilophosaurus Ambush, 75917 Raptor Rampage, 75918 T-Rex Tracker, 75919 Ultra Dino, and 75820 Raptor Escape.
  21. The MasraniGlobal.com (official viral website) confirms this isn't the case. The island was abandoned until 2002, when Masrani Global started rounding up Dinosaurs, cleaning, and building.
  22. ^ I noticed that- something tells me he does some questionable things in the film, but isn't an antagonist. Lego simplified it for a more compelling theme with the sets. -- Now that they are acknowledging it in their catalog how long til Lego puts some info on their website?
  23. Amazing! I assume the catalog did not have any more pics or info? Also, is this meant to be a public catalog?
