  1. I just wanted to share the extra details I added to the official set to make it more movie accurate. My biggest complaint was that they left out the entrance to the caves, so I added a the entrance outline to the second wall. Also I added some of the mountain out line that helms was built into. My next addition is turning that useless room they included into the glittering caves. What additions have you guys made to your hems deep?
  2. In my experience I've found the magnets sets to be the best out of the cheap plastics. I've gotten Star wars, and toy story and they are almost a perfect match to the real thing. But battle packs and the lego store volume packs (Not the minifigs, the five pack collection.)are horrible! Cheap, opaque, non clasping hands. Torso looks like it has a decal on it and not a print. Weapons are a darker shade, and very brittle. Arms rotate like crazy, legs wobble, hands can't turn. Mega Blocks are 10X better quality then that crud. *Rant over.* Long story short the magnet packs are the best of a worser world. (Is that a word?) They look just like the real thing, but you can tell they arn't. (Missing neck print, and branding on right armpit.) They are a great way to get a fig you want, at a decent price, and are col. minifig quality.
  3. Thats ginny's hair from the new HP sets.
  4. Yeah I was a weee bit tight on space in that corner, it was just one of those watch a movie and buid it things. Im thinking of putting the new harry potter house in that area, or the fortified inn. I've never seen a silver tree!? I regret converting it to brown, the cost of those old brown bricks have been astronomical!! But it does look more natural then black. I think the dark forest sets kindof made all the old forestmen owners grumpy with there colored trees, at least I feel that way!
  5. So this is my work in progress layout thread. I'll update it as new things are added, like next week I should have the brown parts to convert 6054 forestmen hideout to a nice realistic tree. But after that I don't really have much till the new kingdom sets show up. So on to the layout. What I wanted from the start was playability, but it had to look good, so when my friends showed up they'd think it was just for display! I think Im quite happy how it turned out, Its just a combination of sets, my MOC skillz are a little weak. But I've made a few changes here and there. Hopfully this will inspired some of you sets horders to throw em together! Lets start the tour with the Lion/Tiger/Puma knight's castle. So heres the front. Wow a really bad MOC, inspired by a knights tale! Love the advent calender! Wizards area, wonder whats in the tower? Whoa..... How'd this get here? So now on to everybodys fav, the forestmen! Looking from the Dragon/Snake/Geico Knights tower, all you can see is trees... But its a large forestmen hideout!
  6. So heres a few pics of my WIP castle layout. Its a combination of my childhood forestmen and the new 2010 kingdoms line. Its about 90% done, the only thing im adding are plastic capes to all the little figs, and whatever else comes up next year. The pics are from my phone so there a little blurry, but if anyone needs to see something better I can whip out my camera gear. So heres the sky shot, the Lion knights have their fortified town, ahead lies a forest, and behind is their farm. In the dark forest is the dragon knights hidden hideout, where they raid traveling carts. But they arn't the only people living in the forest. The forestmen keep watch, defending the lion knights through their hidden networks of rocks and trees. And heres what happens to cheap plastic junk you get in the battle packs!
  7. Yeah I can take a few. I'll start a new thread, don't wanna hijack this one.
  8. Yeah its possible to connect them. I was gonna use mine as an outpost, but it fit in so well with the walls. Heres a pic of my set up.
