Star Trek 2 Mafia - Day Four
Lind Whisperer replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Vote: Wesley(Pandora) Why? Because I keep my promises. And I promised Data I would cast a first vote. (Wesley beat me to Fworg). Unvote: Wesley(Pandora) If Wesley's scum, he's doing a master job of it. He keeps throwing the option of his own lynch out there. "Just get rid of Fworg when I come up town!" Troinkley's repeating what I said on Day Three - long, energetic posts. But, he seems to have stopped, or slowed down, saying "If I was a scum...". Interesting. Riker's post boils down primarily to fluff. Fworg: MIA. Picard: I gave a run-down of my actions at the end of yesterday. Wesley posted further clarification. Pretty much everyone on this list gives me red flags, including me (from an outside perspective). -

Data said he'd rather be lynched than the scum get a night kill. You said you'd rather have a computer result than a night kill...I remembered earlier when I"d offered to potentially vote for myself, and suggested if Data was really serious, he could take that route - mostly assuming he wasn't, because his responses were so scummy. He was serious. -

@Fugazi @Darkdragon *salutes* If you're town, I will personally place the first vote on Wesley...or possibly Fworg. -

Not a good option, mind. But an option. -

If you're being serious, here, then voting for yourself is always, technically, an option. -

If you haven't been reading, we've ALL(Troi/Wesley/me) been voicing suspicion of Fworg. More fluff? When you're facing a possible lynch for that exact thing? I can check the time, but it was late enough in the day, with such sluggish activity, that it was not likely to go off. -

I'm debating that. Glad as I am to have someone who agrees with me, it was a bit of a quickly changed vote. In a previous game, I was grateful to Crusher for agreeing with me - which was a mistake, as Crusher was then also scum, which I had suspected but dropped. I don't think this is a repeat, but the possibility of Wesley realizing my hammer vote might be changed by agreeing with me, is not a non-factor. Eh. I'd like to vote Riker. But if it's down to Wesley/Data... Vote: Data @Trekkie99 -

Assuming you and I vote Data, we'd need either @Darkdragon or @Fugazi. -

As I see it, I have three options, all bad. 1 - Hammer Wesley 1a He's scum, game over, we're good. 1b He's town, and I spend tomorrow defending myself because of his earlier impassioned plea+"my" weirdly scunny moments the last two days. 2 Vote for someone else. 2a Scum night kill 2b Other people like the idea - unlikely 3 Suicide/vote myself 3a Tie=scum night kill 3b Someone hammers me, we waste a day/townie After re skimming the threads I'm wondering if Troi & Wesley are both actually townie. @Trekkie99 You haven't really posted anything of substance. I'd need to check the archives but I feel like I've seen you play exactly like this as a scum once before. @Fugazi You're perfectly in the center. Not enough posts to stick your neck out, not so few you-re not contributing. If you're scum, good job, if town, play more! @Darkdragon Your voting with Wesley fits a convenient pattern. If you're scum, you know people will listen to a dead townie the next day, and you're in a good spot to keep being under the radar. Don't bus Wesley, nudge everyone on bussing me tomorrow based on Wesley's testimony + "suspicious behavior" - that's almost half the game won(for you) right there. Beverly voting for you is such a classic scum move, that I don't think people are giving enoigh weight to. "It's so obvious, they wouldn't try and pull that!" Well, why not? These are recognized as classic tells for a reason! -

Good afyrrnoon! It's a pleasure being with all of you! Even though I've been with you all along? Now that fluff is out of the way... I have noticed that, throughout this game, Troi has never recieved a great deal of scrutiny(Troinckley will disagree I'm sure) - or at least, not as much as might be expected. She's done hefty infodumps that have kept attention off her - almost as if she was relying on her "if I WAS scum" to take the pressure off....having trouble articulating my point, and I don't have much time to post. Basically, if she generously keeps applying the idea that she could be scum, people assume that that's a townie move, and forget her. Wesley = 50/50. Leaning town/bad scum player. Riker = he's the only one who hasn't tripped my scumdar. And that trips mine. ...I just realized that the last two people I pegged are both voting on me. I scrolled up to get their names, only to realize this? What happened to keeping names in sigs? Hmm...since I'm town, to my slight surprise - Picard was flying under the radar, a la Riker - this slightly increases my suspicions. But not enough to place a vote yet. The bandwagon on Wesley's a.bit too easy - probably aided by fan sentiment... -
I'd join but 5 days to kill a single player is a bit long.

Welcome to a quick RPG one shot! I have a few vacation days, and how better to spend them than trying to type words into a very very tiny touch screen? Q. What system? Running the old Heroica rule set. Q. How many players? 2-3. Q. Can I create a new character/bring back an old character? No, pre-gens only. Q. Will there be pictures? Yes. Q. First come first served? No, but the sooner you sign up, the higher your chances are. Q. Why is there not more detail? I'm writing this on a smartphone. Q. This is possibly the quite least detailed quest pitch I've ever read. A. Agreed. Sorry I'm not able to flush it out with right now.

"Fair"? "Objective"? Dude... YOU'RE THE CONSUMER. Star Wars isn't a religion. Disney's supposed to justify to you why you should want to buy a product - not you justify yourself. And, yes. Disney's made many choices that have directly influenced me to not purchase SW that I otherwise might have, including embarrassingly low effort media productions*. Basic capitalism. *Solo was okay, R1 needed work(Ending directly contradicting IV's scroll, etc.).

Thanks. I think it's Eurobricks acting up - It was happening when I tried to PM Kinto a while back, then all of a sudden it resolved itself. I'm pretty sure I raised the idea at some point...though it would probably have been more on the order of two years ago. Oh! And before I forget: @Waterbrick Down: Couple Bunch of Hall pictures, if that's still open: Vindsval and Skrall armwrestling. All remaining ex-Crescent Union members. All remaining ex-Sungold Alliance members. All remaining Wolfgang members. Pretzel and Benji in a brotherly hug. Lind and Vindsval. Lind and Germ. Lind, Germ, Petaldan, Ezeran, and Torald(if his fig is available). Lind, Petaldan, and Ezeran walking down the Hall steps, with a few of the confirmed-to-be-remaining heroes visible behind them in the bar.

@Palathadric@MysticModulus Could you guys see if you can enable PMs, please? Eurobricks isn't letting me message you.

I had a plan for ours(Salmanda crew), but it's run into snags. No chance of seeing her again in a Mafia game, then? (You hinted a while back that you were considering a Heroica Mafia...) Same.

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return
Lind Whisperer replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"'Greater Good'?" Lind shook his head. "Arthur, do you even remember that last quest we were on together? Watching the Proggs' village be destroyed taught me preciously why 'in the name of a greater good' is never a justification for anything. All that hard work destroyed because some of the heroes couldn't wait a few extra minutes..." "Arthur raises a point about Asa - but Dyric also raised one about making a clean slate." He stepped forward. "Given his tremendous support, and history, I also nominate Hoke Able...er, Du Bennett, for Veteran. Ã…sa Nifelheimr also has significant support, and deserves recognition - but given this organization's need for a clean slate, I suggest that she be recognized for her service by being put in charge of 'magic nonsense,' as Atramor put it. This would guarantee that the position goes to the capable, while still keeping it free from Ziegfried power squabbles." -
Nearly everyone's gone silent. One of the reasons why I'm doubting a "Heroica 2.0" would work - nearly everyone here seems burned out on RPing, and the rest of Eurobricks is slowly dying - not enough people to re-vitalize a second game.

"In role, I think that you would be at your best as our veteran Cleric, friend - though through what manner (job class), is up to you. Your dedication to your faith, and your skill with healing - I think, in that role, you could prove masterful. We did say that we're wiping the slate clean, but perhaps you could follow in the footsteps of Kukulkan, and be a patron to the green skins of Eubric?" -

"So what are you suggesting they do with their current ships? Simply surrender them over to the city? Also, what would this plan entail for the Paladins? They - or what's left of them - are a significant armed force in their own right, here in the city." "Would you propose similar measures for all of the other houses, as needed?" "Our time spent questing together was short, but memorable." Lind handed Pretzel back his Shadeaux Mace. "Good speed, wherever you travel." -
If I've learned one thing from this game, it's that coming to the story with a too much of a backstory, usually isn't as much fun as having your character respond to things, and building their character up that way. Just a simple outline works best, I think.

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return
Lind Whisperer replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I agree with Karie, and Dyric makes a good point - city defense does seem like a council decision. Or, at the least, we can provide what we have to them, and they can choose what they want. As to Veterans...you know, I'm in. Throlar's already said that he wants to be out there, changing the world - and Veteran kind of ties you down...and Torald isn't with us anymore. Here's my Veteran picks, and why: Atramor Gibbon: He's loyally served Eubric since before many of us were here, he's well respected, and a good leader, capable of hearing all voices on a matter. Karie Alderflask: Ever since I've been a member of Heroica, she has always been incredibly impressive in terms of diplomacy and leadership, always trying to make amends between warring parties. She's clever, and she's not against a good plan when someone proposes it. Dyric Rone: The man loves Eubric, and from what people tell me, has been doing his best to serve it since the day he arrived. He deserves this. Vindsval Half-born: His twin devotions to his faith, and his city, can be an inspiration to us all - and especially to new heroes. The man was willing to loose an arm, just to keep this city from suffering a plague - surely any one willing to sacrifice as much as this, can be trusted with the safety of our city. Lind Whisperer: Vindsval and I both have a knack with the newer heroes - we can connect the old generation of heroes, and the new. I'm good at coming up with plans in a pinch - most of you will remember my 'election team' back in Rosier's dream. But my plans do best when I have someone to balance me out - and Karie, Dyric, and Vindsval, would each be a fine balance in and of themselves. All together, we'd be unstoppable. The Knight paused. "I'm not entirely sure who to nominate for a sixth. Skrall is talented, and dedicated, but he's tightly tied to the Wolfgang, and Heroica needs to be independent. Asa has served loyally, but as Dyric said, it might be better just to have a clean slate. Euflear, same reasons as Asa. I know that some people want Nerwen, but, given how quiet she's been, I'd like to hear if anyone else would like to step forward before I push for her." @Waterbrick Down I'm fine with moving ahead. -

Back-up DMs would need to be in place, in case any of the DMs had an unexplained absence, and then never came back from it. The overarching story would also have to be written down somewhere, where the Back-up DMs - or the main, overseeing DM - could access it if such a disappearance were to happen.
