  1. Thanks Blakbird, I sort of thought that would be the answer! And it makes good sense to me, because of the mess and the possibility of it not being compatible with Lego materials. OK! I will just keep my blower handy and keep the dirt out of the gears and don't over load the parts. I am learning a lot from you guys, and I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Rob
  2. OK! I do have another question: With all the Lego gears and moving parts with some of our builds, do any of you guys have ideas as to the use of cleaners or some type of lubrication that should or can be used on Lego gearing and moving joints? Rob
  3. Hi Alex, Thank you for your input! I Think you are on the right tract with the color matching. It seems that black and yellow are the two dominate colors on this build. Today I will be at 32 different vendors trying to find all these parts in the right colors! I think you are right, black would be a good way to go! I will work ONE more day trying to stay as pure as possible, then I go to black! Thanks again for the advice, Rob
  4. Finding these extra parts for the Ultimate 42009 Crane build is tough! I have been on 32 different Lego parts web sites and still have not found all the parts needed. JUST GOTTA KEEP LOOKING!! I am a little confused as to the colors!? When I look at Jugens instructions, I am seeing most of the colors are black, dark grey, light grey, yellow, and red for the major pieces! The gears are tan, black, and white, and this is what I am trying to purchase. Some of the colors on his extra parts list that I would assume should be black almost look dark bluish grey!? Is there a way that someone might set me straight as to you view on the colors? Thanks for the help, Rob
  5. Thanks Zimix, I am very pleased to see that everyone that is involved with this type of high end build are really Lego purest! Keep the search going!! Hi Polo-Freak, WOW! Great looking Lamborghini build! You also have a great collection of builds! I being a new comer to this Lego stuff am totally amazed at what you guys are doing with the complexity of your builds! My RC buddies have really been on my case about the transition I have made from the RC Airplane world to Lego,s! They have no concept of how complex a Lego build can be. The Ultimate 42009 is just the tip of the so called ice burg that can be achieved! I love this Lego world!! Rob
  6. Another question? it seems color could be an issue with some of the parts! what are your feelings about staying true to the right color on these parts? I know i would prefer to stay with the colors that Jurgen has listed on his part sheet for the Ultimate 42009 build, but some of these parts just seem to not be found!? Any input and views on this would certainly be appreciated! Rob
  7. grum64 I have nothing to show off!! I just showed some of these photos to my wife of some of what you guys are doing! She looked at me, put her head in her hands and just said OH NO!!
  8. I am using my old RC Airplane building station! It's a solid 24" wide 60" Long solid wood top with drawer sections at each end. The top is covered with 1/4" cork which allowed me to use stick pins for holding wood parts in place while the glue dried. I found the cork top helps to keep the Lego pieces from sliding all over. I have given up the RC Airplane and Multicopter building, and now I am totally hooked on Lego projects. You guys have some great building areas and I will apply some of these great ideas to my space! Thanks for the great photos!
  9. Zimix, Thank you very much for that very helpful advice! I am learning so much about what Legos is all about, and one thing for sure it certainly goes much deeper that just purchasing a kit! I am really looking forward to the Ultimate 42009 Crane build, and I can hardly wait to get started on another Technic MOD Kit! Thanks again for the input!:-) Rob
  10. OK! Thanks Blakbird! It's good to know that I am now on the right tract!:-))
  11. I did locate the EXTRA parts list needed for the Ultimate build of my 42009 Crane kit! I have been to "Bricklink" and I have found all the stores located in the USA, and there are many! I am going to assume that you folks must of done the same?! And that was to purchase the required parts from several different stores in order to fill the parts list! I did purchase all the electronics and motors from the Lego shop, so I am in good shape in that dept. If there is a better way than what I am doing to fill the rest of the parts list any advice would be appreciated! I have always found in life "That's its not the finish or the finished product that counts, its the fun in the JOURNEY getting there!!" Thanks for the advice and help you folks have given me!! Rob
  12. Hi Zimix! sorry I called you VASSAL!! Thanks for all the help you provided! Rob
  13. Thanks Blackbird! I appreciate the clarification! At least now I can get started on the Ultimate 42009 build now that I have the parts and instructions squared away! Love this stuff! So much to learn, and the array of builds that await out there are endless!! Need to check with the wife, I think I am going to need a bigger "Hobby Room"!! Thanks again, Rob
  14. Thanks VASSAL! I think I understand what you are saying! Parts list 1 & 2 show the parts that are included in the 42009 Crane kit. The only parts that I need to purchase are those that are shown under "Additional Parts (PGN-image). These plus the original parts in the kit will build the Ultimate 42009! Jugens Instructions (PDF, 103 MB) will build the complete Ultimate 42009 Crane! With this info I can now move on with the project. Thank you very much for the info and help! Rob
  15. I am sorry to be such a pest! I am really wanting to build the Ultimate 42009 Crane! I have the 42009 basic Crane kit. I do have three questions that I would like to ask, and any help would be appreciated. If you go to Jurgens Technic Corner and go to the Ultimate 42009 you will find his PDF instructions and some PNG images. I am confussed as to which parts list to use. 1. Complete parts list Part 1 & Part 2 (PGN-image) Question: Are these the additional parts (Parts 1 & 2) that I will need to purchase ALONG WITH THE KIT to build the Ultimate 42009? 2. Additional Parts (PGN-image) Question: What does this additional parts (PGN-image) Are these additonal parts on top of the Parts 1 & 2 that will be required also? 3. Instructions (PDF, 103 MB) Question: I assume these instructions will work in CONJUNCTION with the kit instructions? I would really appreciate any input to the above three questions! I just do not want to go out and purchase a bunch of parts that I do not need for this build! Thank you all for any help and insight you might give me! Rob
  16. Alasdare Ryan, Thank you very much for the information, and directions! I am a little new at this, but with what you have given me I think I will be able to put together the extra parts needed along with the kit itself to build the Ultimate 42009 Crane! Thank you, Rob
  17. Hi, I am a new member of this blog! I have just purchased and received the 42009 Mobile Crane MKll kit. I am looking to do the Ultimate 42009 remote control version. I have located the last two updated parts pages (I hope) and I would assume that I can start ordering the parts required for this Ultimate build! If someone would give me a little guidance as to the correct parts required and also where would be the best places to purchase these parts, i would really appreciate it! I just finished up the 9396 Rescue Helicopter build and now I am really hooked!! Thank you all for help and or advice you can give me!! Rob
