I promised, here they come. I am sorry, but at this moment I can only tell you how big the hall is. We have a stage with 80 sqm The mainhall has 634 sqm There are some smaller "rooms" like one which is called "club", it has 26 sqm, maybe it is possible to have a special exhibit there and in other rooms. More Details, when I have them.

More information will come, don't worry. :) Number of people depends on what they want to show - if people want to bring their city or a lifesize Darth Maul bust for example. Personally, I would prefer a mix. We just got started with the planning, that's why I also asked for information on Lego events themselves, so we do not know which activities are possible and stuff like that. Of course it will depend on what we have to offer, who will be there. But at this stage of planning, it would be enough to know, that people are interested in that little town. With no interest in it after all, it is a waste of time planning it. Don't get me wrong - I am already planning it and I am grateful, that you already helped me by asking for more information.

Hello everybody. I am working for an event agency and my supervisor is interested in a Lego exhibition, where people can show their work in MOCs or even cities. He asked me, as he knows I am a Lego fan, to contact the community and I thought, EB should be the best place to start. We don't have a date yet, but a location. It will be held in 32839 Steinheim, Germany, a rather small town close to Paderborn which I guess is better known. So we are looking for people, preferable from nearby but we don't care if someone from Australia wants to visit us, who are willing to show their work. Of course, without a date it is rather hard to say, but in this early stage it is just to see how the reception is. If somebody has experience with hosting a Lego exhibition, I would be very pleased if he/she can share some knowledge with me. Thank you in advance.

This really is awesome. I prefer the ship, as it looks quite authentic to the ones which are on the "Rhein".
-
Well, that's exactly what I do with my gf - show her the MOCs here so she sees how creative some people are. I lack that talent too, but I am still able to have some ideas on Lego and I think, with practice comes the quality.

I like this car a lot - so much, that I want to fill my city with some of them. :-)

When you are a kid, you want to become pilot, construction worker, policemen or firefighter. With Lego, you can live that dream. For adult collectors of course, this balance is not that nice, as we want more civilian stuff, to fill our city, but as it was already said, it's aimed at kids. So we have to build the stuff we want on our own.

Basically, that is quite a hard question for me, as I had girlfriends who didn't understand and those who did. I even was married and she talked to me about Lego and stuff, we often builded up sets together and she even helped me cleaning and sorting the bricks. Right now, I have a girlfriend, who understands my liking of Lego, but she doesn't share it. (Ok, she bought some keychains last time we were in a LegoShop) She also want's to help me in building and cleaning, so she at least shares the effect of doing something together. I never builded up any city, so this was never a topic. But in every corner of my normal life there is some Lego involved. If you don't like me and my Lego, we are not meant to be a couple. That's how I see it now.

My vote goes for 7744 - but it is close to the new one. I like the idea with the "closed" parking more then an open road - and that's mainly the only thing which makes the winner here, as both are fantastic sets. The first one however is nice as well, but I dislike the hill baseplate. That's btw the reason I don't have the hospital yet. :)

@peterab: I would like to see some photos of it, do you have any? It sounds interesting. @LegoSjaak: Nice City. Some real nice ideas inside and I see you had the same idea as me, with the train bridge. :-) Thanks to all so far - it really impressed and inspired me.

Same here as praatek - outside isn't very much fitting to the winter village (IMO) but I guess, you have to have something like that for an orphanage. But the inside is just pure awesomeness - very detailed and I love the train. Ah, and the food of course is stored in the shelves. :-)

This one is really awesome. I don't like "plain" floor, as I think, a lot of Lego Feeling is lost, but that doesn't make your MOC less impressive. I wish I would be as creative as some of the guys here. ;-)

Exactly. Thanks for the picture. EDIT: After checking your picture, I think it is another nice solution - the only problem here is, that I want to keep it as original as possible. So only sets from the current Lego City Line - that makes the attachment to another set a little bit more complicated. The way lightningtiger is doing it, seems better in my particular case. But still not perfect. BTW: Nice work. :-)

That would work, if I don't want to lift it up. I mean something like http://img.quoka.de/Modelleisenbahn_Anlage_Maerklin---foto-bild-77-44444077.jpg - but with Lego. So it is not on a big table ot the ground, but on many tables. I thought about buying the small tables "lack" at Ikea.

Hello everybody. Today I started building up my City - as I builded up Model Train Landscapes before, I want to do it similar. And I also thought, maybe I get my City one day to a nice and lovely convention or something like that, so I want to build it up in modules, so I can "easily" unassemble it and put it back together. Also, It takes less space when I only build it partwise, as I can store the unused modules in a box for example. So, here are my questions: Has anybody experience in a module based city? I have seen a lot of cities around here, but none looked module based. How do I connect the modules? If they have no connection, they can get loose and it doesn't look nice anymore. How do I get "pins" on the underground? Glueing big baseplates on it? (Was my first idea.) Or by simply screwing them with small screws? Thanks for help in advance. :-)

The City Advent Calendar (Yes, I know, too late but I wanted to stop buying these but couldn't resist any longer), some keychains, a Lego Mug and 40008 and 6193 - no very nice sets, but I needed some bricks to build something and those where quite cheap :-)

I can understand this opinion - it is not that they don't care about the smaller ones, they just don't have the capacity for that. Many big companies act like that - you have to be a major player to contact a major player. So, if you want to become a wholesaler (only for Lego) - I wouldn't bet my money on that. As a retailer, try to find a Lego Wholesaler who sellls you stuff - maybe you even have a shop around your place where companies buy stuff - like Metro in Germany. They should be a great source.

After reading the whole thread and making sense for myself from the one thing or the other, I can finally put some opinion here. I like City - always did, always will. But what I don't understand is why TLG is so up to Fire and Police - even Airport has more sets compared to other subthemes which are barely touched or not even yet implemented. I don't think that we need a Space theme - the last one didn't went well (in my opinion). And Spaceports are not very common in a normal city. But maybe the collector's needs are different then those of a normal customer. I guess, that all the City fans want a regular city, with houses, shops and so on and normal customers want some action - so Fire, Police and Space. If you have bought every set in the current city line you have 3 Firestations and soon 3 Policestations as well as 2 Trainstations (not counting the smaller ones included in trainsets) and 2 Airports. So, we have a very busy city which can be set somewhere between Düsseldorf and Paris. But nobody is living there as we don't have any houses. So, we only need one Hospital, as visitors normally don't get injured. Yes, there is some sarcasm in here. :-) I am not disappointed with the new sets. They fit the line and they look good. There is just something missing. As far as I remember, the line started 2005 - enough time to create some civilian stuff. We only have some exclusive items and some shops - if we want houses, we need to build them on our own or take them from older series or Creator. I don't mind doing that, but I would prefer putting my creativity in city layout and not house architecture :-)

I guess you may mean this one.

Thanks for the review. I really try hard to focus ONLY on the City line, but there are so many other beautiful sets out there. :-( This one really is a Must-Have.

admDaggett replied to Gioppa's topic in Forum Information and Help
Hello everybody. I searched the forums, if somebody else has/had the same issue, but it seems that I can not edit my profile. Choosing "my Profile" prompts me a message [#10245] You are not permitted to view member profiles. I can changs my settings, though. Have I overread something or is this a common issue? Thanks in advance.- 188 replies

admDaggett replied to marvinblue's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well, you are asking a lot. I bought the items all by myself and you know, I have to pay for a marriage AND a move to a foreign country. That are the only reasons I am sellling these sets. I need money. Giving presents is not as productive as it should be. If I am granting you this, everybody would ask for it. Yes, I still have Derby Trotter. There is one part missing, also the instructions. I am currently looking, if I can find the missing part, but that could take some time by nearly 10.000+ loose bricks and parts. (not included the parts IN the sets) So, let me know what you think. -

I have 6 Plates, the set 7281 twice. Do you want all of them? I don't need to trade, because I am selling nearly all my Lego Stuff. Please visit the link in my signature, to see what I currently own (not listed: Incomplete sets and sets missing the instructions) and ask me, if the item you want is also in my sale-list. ^^ Trust me, they are nearly all there. ^^ An not complete (beacause I am building all sets before I sell them) list you can find here: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=12152 If you are only collecting the new City line, then you should take a look at my webpage. I didn't want to sell them, but now, I guess, they also have to go. I do not have a Paypal account, but my soon-to-be-wife has one ^^ (That's one reason for selling my stuff. :) ) Let me know what you want, and then we talk about the price, ok? I also have to find out, how much shipping is to you, which is from 13 to 37 Euro.
