matrixrenegade replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm guessing the TDKR figures will cone out when the movie does on DVD. Also i love these figures except Mr. Freeze's helmet is not my favorite thing. -
I really love the look, and the layout of this MOC.

What set/sets brought you out of your dark ages?
matrixrenegade replied to 22kane's topic in Community
For me I gave all my Lego's to my brother when I was 16 and he was 8. I went along until I was a Junior in College when I found the Spider-man Final Bridge battle for $5 at Walmart. I bought it and built it to give to my brother and then I also picked up a few Spider-man sets for cheap from eBay (this was when Spiderman and old castle sets were basically free on eBay). Then what made me deicde to start collecting again was I paid $35 shipped on eBay for the old castle draw bridge which was fine an islanders set, then the two that really did it for me was another small pirate set whose name escapes me at the time and the Dragon Fortress which I always wanted as a kid. It had a Majesto (when I was a boy my parents got me the small Majesto set with the tree work shop it was the only Lego set I had for a year because we could not afford toys). My love for Majesto brought me out. T hen just a few short years later I thought that I was going to stop because eBay prices skyrocketed and I did not really like the sets coming out. Then as I was getting ready to sell my sets on eBay I found out about this site and discovered that Batman sets were coming out as well as some new Castle sets that were really cool (Crown Knights) Form that point on I have been going strong. In about a year my daughter will have been born and be old enough for me to make another new purchase Duplo. My only regret in all of this is I did not have a lot of money being a broke college student and then recent grad to buy all the sets I wanted and so I missed out on a lot of great sets, ie Batcave, and the castles. As a Side note right after I decided to keep getting Lego I did find Vladd's Fortress from the Kingdoms 2 line for $20 at Walmart which was I think a sign that keeping the Lego's was the right thing to do. -
This looks really great. I love the details on the gravestone.

Monster Fighters 2012
matrixrenegade replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really love this theme more each day when I think about it. I think I will have every set in the series because it just seems so much fun to me. -
I think this could be kind of a fun theme. What I wouldl like to see is for them to make the minifig just a solid color with not face or anything just blank. To emulate how you can design what your guy looks like. Each set could have a different color of minifig.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
matrixrenegade replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think that the Pirates theme going discontinued is really going to push me to get the Black Pearl. I wish I could find it for cheap somwhere but it is not to be perhaps. -
That looks really great. I need to take some time to set up a few big scnenes like this with my own Lego.

Monster Fighters 2012
matrixrenegade replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am so excited about this theme. Every time I see the monsters I just think of when I was a little boy sitting around watching the 30's and 40's monster movies with my Dad, it makes me really happy. -
I love the spiderweb placement and the rat. I think that little details like this really put these things over the top.

The treads are a great idea. I hope that if Alien Conquest continues they think about using some tread on a few sets. I think that would be cool plus it would make tread more easily available again. (At least in the themes I purchase.)

Review: 9566 Samaurai X
matrixrenegade replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really am looking forward to this figure. I saw it in the store today but after the big sales at Wal-mart I am tapped out for the moment. -
Which theme/subtheme did you miss and regret?
matrixrenegade replied to BeKindRewind's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's not really a whole theme (well actually I miss most themes) but I just miss sets that featured Majesto. He was the only figure in the first set I ever got and it was the only set I could afford for about 8 months. As such he has always been my favorite minifig. I would like to see him come back and have a new fortress or something. -
I would be interested in this as well.
