I am in the UK and was looking into booking a holiday to the US west coast next year. I was hoping to tie it in with the SDCC. My question is, the exclusive mini figures and a sets available, what would the odds of me being able to get one, are the supplies very limited? thanks in advance -

If we based new sets on these videos then we should of got a bar tender in the Cantina set. Maybe the new Falcon will have disco lights................... -

The Hasbro guys said in the video that the rebels colouring of the box etc will be used for toys from the original movies, however they did say that if it has Rebels underneath then it's from Rebels. This is to avoid confusion and mis-selling etc. the strange thing is that the Slave 1 isn't in the Rebels visual guide. -

This was my point regarding the fact that Star Wars is a HUGE universe where pretty much anything is possible. There is a famous saying which I will probably get wrong but its something like 'if you get an infinite amount of chimps to sit at a piano eventually one of them will play Mozart' its basically saying that because the universe is infinite then all possibilities are possible. So with the Star Wars universe being infinite anything is possible. A cloud car or Sail Barge isnt going to look anything like what you find on Endor, or Kashyuk because different beings live there with different technologies and styles etc. The Gunship, is a wookies design maybe influenced or adapted from something else. It wont look like anything else that we have seen from Rebels because we have only seen two Spaceships, I am sure the Gunship cant go into space! Again, I agree that it could look like something from other Sci-fi but most of the time they are influenced by Star Wars anyway! -

I have to agree Dex's diner made out to be stereotypical New York diner was awful. However this gunship looks more like the Republic Gunship with smaller wings than anything else. I can see where you are coming from as well though - stick some propellers on it and it could look like something out of Modern Warfare. -

I don't get this 'doesn't fit in with the SW universe' thing. If the design came from an original Ralph Mcquarrie sketch then it does fit in (not saying it did). If it didn't, the Star wars universe is vast, far more vast than what we have seen in 6 films, a couple of cartoons and some books. Its MASSIVE, with endless possibilities, endless alien lifeforms with endless ways of designing their vehicles. Who are any of us to tell the makers of Star Wars what is 'Star Wars' and what isn't? I agree, that it could easily look like something from Agents (if painted black) but almost all of the science fiction you see today is influenced by Star Wars, not the other way around. I for one am happy that we are getting different vehicles that aren't part of the Rebellion or Empire - which is whats imprinted in everyone's mind that 'Star Wars' should look like. -

Thats the reason I have never bought a CW set, purely because I dont want to get them mixed up with the PT or OT sets. For example the Turbo tank, Gunship and AC170 were all made for both CW and PT. However as the Rebels sets seems completely different from anything else I am more than happy to collect them, Hopefully due to the time difference nothing will be too similar to EPVII -

Ooooo look at the colour of it, maybe a new ATT isn't unrealistic..... I am officially addicted to Lego Star Wars, I must have this set! -
I agree with this. Historically it seems that UCS sets were large, highly detailed models that were really only for display purposes. However if TLG want to change that and include 'Playset' features then that is up to them. The new Sandcrawler has a USC badge so nobody can argue that it is not UCS. If you want to have your own UCS that only comprises of models with no playset features then I suggest you just buy up to the new X wing missing out the Death Star. I have a feeling that all future UCS sets will both be large, detailed models but will also include playset features and minifigures. Basically marketing UCS sets to both AFOL and kids!

Just finished building most of the summer wave : AT-AT, Star Destroyer, Cantina, Ghost and Phantom. The Ghost surprised me with how good it is and even though many seem to be unhappy with the Star Destroyer I actually think its great and bigger than I expected.

Quick question. It was roughly at the beginning of June last year that LEGO released the official video for the Ewok Village. Do yo think we are likely to get a video or news regarding the UCS (Slave 1) anytime soon. Also does anyone know when images start surfacing for the Winter wave? thanks -
[Review] Rebels Ghost (75053) and Phantom (75048)
Darth Mallet replied to Scott-S6's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For someone who is only usually interested in the OT and some PT sets (avoided CW like the plague) I decided to take the plunge and buy these two sets. I'm not usually bothered with the EU stuff but these sets and characters look good and are much closer to the OT than anything else. The Ghost was a nice build and would make a great play set for a kid, especially with the Phantom add on. If the cartoon is a hit then I can see the Ghost becoming quite iconic. -

It comes with loads of sets and is a tool to separate pieces so you don't split your nails etc!! -
Doubt there will be a Naboo star fighter as there was a pretty decent system scale one released in 2011

I am the only one who is not comparing the new MTT to the 7662 version? Surely it's obvious that it's a remake of the 7184 from 2000 -
But it's not BS, if 100 people bought the falcon purely to sell and make a profit but there was nobody willing to pay let's say £2000 for it then each seller would reduce the price until somebody was happy to pay the price. It's the same with anything. If 2 shops side by side sold snickers bars at £2 each nobody would by them, but if 1 sold at £2 and the other at 50p then the 50p shop would sell lots and the £2 wouldn't, forcing the £2 shop to reduce the price to be competitive. Some guy on eBay has had a limited edition red Vader head on there for over £5000, a serious collector may want it but it's been on there months, with the price slowly coming down. Exactly what would happen with the falcon or anything else for that matter if there wasn't people willing to pay the price.
-
They are not idiots, it's the people willing to pay the price, exactly the same for the cloud city boba and Lando. If people didn't pay then the price would come down, simple economics. I sold my Falcon on EBay because I didn't want it anymore, I had built it twice so the fun was had. I hoped whoever bought it would either get the same fun or was a collector. I put it on as an auction with no buy it now price. It went up to £1500 all by itself not me 'ripping people off' I was happy with the money and the person was happy with the falcon at that price.

. That's cool, I just think you are a minority. Most people tend to prefer the OT over the PT and even the CW over the PT. The worst movie of the PT was TPM too.
-
I think that most people(including TLG) would agree that TPM are the least desired sets, especially anything to do with the Gungans. Hence why we have so many different x wings, falcons, b wings, AT-AT's etc etc as these will always be popular.

I have the tie interceptor and Turbo tank. I am not a huge fan of the microfighters in general but these two are nice builds and at £8.99 then are quite inexpensive. -

Cheers guys. Please excuse my ignorance but are they pretty much the same size? No point getting both then?
