LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Darth Mallet replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thats because they are from different SW shows/films - None of the CW stuff was ever compatible with the OT/PT (the cartoon faces to start with) Plus an arrary of vehicles that were never in the films. I made the 'Choice' not to buy any CW sets thus not upsetting/mixing up my collection. If you want Rebels buy the Rebels BP, if you like regular stormtroopers etc then buy the Shadowtrooopers, if you like Clone style then buy the Geonosis BP To me it looks like this wave caters for many different types of buyers/collectors which can only be good. I am not talking about you here but so many people moan about what is released. If you dont like it dont buy it. TLG cant keep everyone happy and employ strategic marketing people to decide what gets produced - they are not worried about a handful of people moaning that the Rebels Stormie is different form the Regular one because millions of kids will want the rebels ones for Christmas after seeing the show. Disney and Lego are constantly (and rightly so) thinking about the next generation of fan because although it may not seem like it on a AFOL site most kids when they grow up stop buying LEGO. That is your opinion and not a fact - I would imagine (and i could be wrong) that Millions of kids asking for Rebels sets for Christmas would seriously outweigh the amount of people wanting to army build. We adult fans/collectors think Lego SW is being made for us, its not. The odd UCS targets the older fan but a battle pack that costs £9.99 is aimed at kids. The Rebels show is aimed at kids. Its been designed to attract a whole new generation of fans just before 6 major blockbuster films get released. I am in my late 30's and grew up with Star Wars and am a huge fan, I will watch Rebels, I will buy the sets but that doesn't change the fact that its aimed at kids. -

Doubt very much they will canonise it. Once the 6 new films are done you can bet your bottom dollar the next films will be set before Ep1 etc - 'Star Wars Origins' type of thing. They may use some of the content but will do it their way -
is this the best MOC ever? Quite possibly.

I didn't realise how much a set can change from a Prelim pic to the final version. If you take the Disney Princess line which has recently been shared by just2good the Elsa's Ice castle for example - the set and box has completely changed. In the prelim it had a purple staircase and now its white. The box art has the two girls in completely different positions too. This makes me even more excited to see the final set images for the Star Wars Winter sets. Maybe we will get the OT Stormtroopers after all and TLG realised they messed up a little with one in the Ghost. I will still buy the ITT however even with Ghost style Stormtroopers as they dont offend me as much as they do other people. But of course i would prefer OT style. Hopefully not long to wait to find out :) -

Wasn't the troop transport just a Kenner toy? It wasn't ever actually in any program, film or computer game right?? I am guessing that it's going to be in Rebels and is therefore based on that. Which obviously means Rebels Stormtroopers. I can't see where the confusion is here. There is an argument that there should of been another OT Stormtrooper battlepack in the last 6 years but that is completely separate topic. This pack is based on Rebels and people will just have to deal with it. I am an OT fan who grew up in the 80s but I enjoyed the first episode of Rebels so will happily buy the sets. -

Watched the first Rebels episode this morning and I thought it was awesome. I couldn't get into the Clone wars as I couldn't get past Asoka saying R-tooey etc plus I'm an OT fan. Rebels is so close to the OT, the music, sound effects and then of course the empire etc. I don't own a single clone wars set but have both rebels sets and will get most of the ones from the winter wave. -

The front of the boxes must surely change when they are made official Take the Microfighters as an example - the vulture droid has a standard droid seated but on the side/top of the box he is a Droid pilot. Same with the republic gunship, on the front it's a standard clone but on the side/top he has the yellow helmet. Then the biggest one is the ARC-170 with the pilot being a rebellion pilot but on the side/top it's clearly a more grey clone pilot -

Only the Death Star and Tantive IV? What about most of the Tattoine scenes? 'Look sir Droids' & These aren't the droids your looking for, plus the cantina, plus when they attack the falcon before it flies off. -

TLG are probably following Hasbro with the packaging. Next years packaging for rebels and OT will be in Rebels style boxes. It's just the rebels ones will say Rebels underneath the Stormtrooper helmet. There is a video from SDCC where the Hasbro guys are interviewed and they state this. -

Yes because large dictatorships never spend money on their military do they?? I would hazard a guess that the Empire spent most of its money and resources on its military might, including uniforms. -

Exactly, it makes me laugh how people presume things when actually they don't know for sure - Do these people know the writers? have some literature to back up their assumptions? We could go on with one person assuming that the Stormies are the same in a new hope and Rebels and another saying that they are different. All I am saying is that we dont know so nobody should assume anything or post 'facts' based on their on theories. -

How do you know it would be preferable to fans? I quite like the fact that Rebels are featuring a slightly different Stormtrooper. It shows the evolution of them from Clones, to next gen clones, then the rebels Stormtrooper then the ones in the OT. I think Rebels is set 6 years before the battle of Yavin - they will change again for episode 7 and no doubt we will get versions of those too. But anyway just because something preferable to you doesn't mean it is for everyone else. ;-) -

Lol, its ok mate, I was just kidding hence me emoticons. It was more of a gentle dig at people that moan about pretty much everything from price to design to a set not including a minifig that they thought should of been included. I know its all about opinions etc but how anyone can moan about the new Slave 1 for example is beyond me. Most people have been waiting forever for it and then when pictures emerge of it looking like a piece of art some people still find something to moan about. Just make me giggle.... -

Lets be frank about it, people do not buy the advent calender to boost there amount of Stormtroopers, Snow troopers etc. If there is an exclusive minifigure then collectors will buy the calender but at the end of the day its just an advent calender with fun lego ships and figures to open each day. I am sure brickdoctor is right in that its the perfect way to use up surplus pieces. -

The Blu-rays were tinkered with again unfortunately! In ROTJ when Vader throws the Emporer to save Luke, you hear Vader shout Nooooooooooo which was cut straight from Revenge of the Sith when Vader is told that he killed Padme. Not to mention all three films having a very faint blueness to them most noticeable in the Hoth scenes. If you search online you can find the blu-ray changes as there are many more than I have mentioned. -

The only thing that is really different is the longer sloppy black stripe on the nose. Other differences are the grey lines not being joined up under the eyes which makes the eyes look a bit droopy. Then the mouth piece is very slightly different. Air vents are blue. But as i said its the nose bit that really sticks out. I think both look good but prefer the OT version to Rebels.
