Never saw them in Newcastle area. Might have to buy online at full Au RRP. -

Does anyone know when the latest Hobbit sets and LOTR Orthanc Tower will be in Aussie stores. I want to get it whilst the 20% sales are on. They have been out for ages but it seems you can only get them at Lego online or O/S. -

Thanks for the great scoop. Went to Target Glendale yesterday and got 2x Warg attacks, Goblin King and 2x Council of Elrond. This is the best deal we have had in Australia at 50% off. Gets close to competing on prices with the USA now. Have made a great MOC of Warg attacks. Have extended the tree making it taller with more foliage. The 4 Wargs make it look heaps more realistic with Thorin going into battle backed up by Bilbo. -

Was after the 2011 Naboo Starfighter 7877. I see it at Lego shop home Au, but have not seen it in any stores ie Kmart, TRus, Target, Big W, Myer etc. Has anyone seen this set in any stores in Australia -

Saw all the new HP sets at Target in Newcastle yesterday. marked at full RRP. Have already ordered them from the US a few weeks ago which came in delivered at 66% of Au pricing. Target at Glendale must be getting ready for their Toy sale as they had 3 rows packed with Lego on display. -

I have a whole dedicated room with purpose built shelves for our display. I have a storage area filled with all the boxes but it is taking up lots of space. I think I might put them in the fireplace one day. -

I like your passion but you are wrong to think Lego is a really great investment. A few sets will increase a bit but it is really all about the demand the set gets in the unknown future that creates the price eg Cloud City. If I would have invested the 10K (conservative estimate) I have spent on lego I would be a lot better off. But would I be happier. No way. -

I feel the same. I bought ewok attack, MF and pod racers all on sale in Australia at 20 to 25% off and they are still way too expensive. I wanted them as they are OT and I had to buy them for our collection. Just bought all the new HP sets from US including delivery to Australia for 65% of the price they are in Australia. How can I buy sets in the USA pay $42 to deliver it to my door and it is still 35% cheaper than what I can buy it for at RRP in Australia. I'll say too, "You've got to be kidding" TLG. -

Saw the Tantive IV at KMart in Newcastle for $149. That's a pretty good price. I got it a few months ago for I think $169 and is a great set for display. -

Bricklink. Just go to a site and see which one has them all. I ordered all the sets and de boxed them to cut down postage. They are still bagged but new. You have to order a bit to get value for money as you have to get over the postage barrier hurdle which is big. But the US is 50% cheaper on Lego than Oz so big orders is where you save . -

Just bought Hogwarts, Knight bus and 2 forbidden forests for $Au136 (with $US42 postage included) delivered from the US. I saw the prices on the Lego site $Au206 so this is far cheaper than what I would get with 20% off from, KMart/Target etc. I wish Lego would get there act together in Australia. The prices are just to expensive for kids let alone AFOL. Anyway can't wait to put these to our HP displays. -

It's like that here in Newcastle, Some stores have them all, some only a few of the new SW sets. I went to DJ's right at the start of their 20% off sale on toys and they had all the sets. I had my wife with me and didn't want to go and buy $350 plus of lego with her there so I went back a few days later to get podracer and MF and all the podracers were gone and only 1 MF left. I was spewing at Myer at Charlestown as they had their 25% off sale and all they had was ewok attack. I rang every few days to see if they had MF and podracer and they didn't have it. Don't know if they are hiding it out the back but I don't think they would. You need these discounts as the sets are incredibly expensive. They are even too expensive when reduced compared with the US. Oh well keep working hard and doing a bit of overtime to pay for our expensive lego habit We have a whole room with SW and HP sets and there are $000's there on display. Scary but great fun collecting. Does anyone know when the new HP sets will hit Aust stores. -

Got Pod Racer today from TrUs with 20% off voucher from here. Great set great minifigs. Worth getting to add to our, massive SW and HP collection. Have new MF which I got from DJ's at 20% off. Got ewok attack from Myer at 25% off but that was all Myer had in Newcastle. So I had to get the other sets from other stores. Have modded the MF up a fair a bit and added a hyperdrive similar to 4504 from bricklink parts. -
Hanging for these 3 sets. No sign of any any Australia yet. The new SW have just hit the shelves though.

Got MF yesterday and it looks fairly good. Big cost in Australia RRP $AU250 ($US269). Got in at a sale though for $AU200. Bit of a saving but still not as good as being in the US. The big problem with this set is that it is very Spartan on the inside. I have ordered some parts on Bricklink and will put the hyper-drive in similar to MF 4504. Have modded it up a fair bit, tidied up and concealed the technic beams underneath, put different/raised landing gear on it similar to our 1st MF 7190. It looks really good now, Our 1st MF has been moved to the back of our display shelves. Have put the new MF in our Hoth Hanger bay scene, destroying the Snow troopers as the try to set up their cannon. Worth buying. Now I'm of to get Anakins Pod racer.

I just purchased Count Dukoo's Solar Sailor 7752 to add to our collection. I have over 100 SW and almost all HP sets on display (either flying, battle scenes, movie scenes etc). I have a special room which has purpose built cupboards for this increasingly expensive hobby. I want to Display the Solar sailor on a stand and have it flying upwards at about 33 degrees with the wings opened. The problem is, as the bottom is reversed to match the top it is hard to find a point to attach a stand that looks okay (ie thin enough) and works at the right balance point on the ship. I have looked on the net and can not find any ways to display it. I don't really want to suspend it by fishing line/wire, but is there a way to do this. I'm sure some experts on here will be able to help.

TJ as a fellow Australian I feel your pain. I got it a few weeks ago from a Bricklink shop in Austria for total $Au234 (125 euros for the set only). It was registered delivered included in this cost which was about $58 in this price. This set is 2.4kg, but with packing etc you can bet it will be about 4kg which is heavy for air freight costs. I don't think you will get it any cheaper than that unless you are overseas and can get it without delivery. It is well worth it and looks great. I have about 85% of all the HP sets on display and this is the best one yet. I have added in a slightly improved modified sets, knockturn Alley, Quality Quidditch supplies and Hogsmead Station and train in this group set display and it is great. TJ, Just do it. If you can get it at a reasonable price which with the Ozzie $ so good you will only lose a few bucks and that is just the delivery costs stuffing it up. I got my set for $Au169 and delivery put it up to $Au234. Myer will list it for $269 and if you get it for say 20% off on sale there is still not that much money in it. Plus you have to add the petrol cost etc in going to the shop and buying it. In the long run these sets never really lose value as people will always want to buy them in the future. One example is Star Wars Cloud City. You need almost $600 to buy this now. Again.... DO IT.
