  1. Hi there, It's been some years since I really "played" with Lego, being as I'm now 26 and don't really have the time for it anymore (but would love to!!). However, while having a bit of a clear out I came across my old Lego Mindstorms Kit (9719?) with the RCX 1.0 and serial-based IR sensor. To get back into it again I believe all I would need is a Serial to USB cable (one like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-RS232-Converter-Cable/dp/B00077DJIQ) and a virtual machine to run the software as I'm running Windows 7. I would be starting all over again obviously since I don't have the original computer I used to use and I can't seem to track down the CD that was included with the kit; so I guess I would need to source that from somewhere - any thoughts? I know most will probably say I should get the NXT or EV3 set but to be honest I just want to bring back some nostalgia I had as a 10 year old kid playing around with robotics. Would be nice just to see it working again; that's if the years of being tucked up in the loft haven't eroded the electronics! Anyway, any help would be much appreciated! Cheers!
