  1. The water doesn't slip through the pieces.. it'll mostly come out of the hole I left at the bottom of the pot. Also, a quick update below: - I've changed the trees to be straight and thick, so that it gives a better feeling of speeder bikes zipping through - made the speeder bikes shorter so that the size fits better - changed the type of moss planted in the pot
  2. the hanger looks fantastic, voted for it! Also love the Sarlacc scene, any thoughts of submitting it for Lego Ideas?
  3. I like the temple a lot... find myself staring at the details. The white statues are funny!
  4. yeah good point - the official ones do seem a little bit too long for the pot. I'll explore that Thanks for the pointer... I've been thinking a lot about a cactus scene but can't believe I didn't think of Tatooine!
  5. are you referring to some sort of protection layer on the inside? Not at this moment, but I should start looking into that, enough people has raised concern about possible scratched lego. Also on the to-modify list: - lego trees could look better if I use the 2x2 round pieces. - more detail on the green ground
  6. Hi all, I am currently working with my wife to create a series of flower pots based on classic movie scenes. The idea was born when I asked myself: "what would it take for me to love plants more?" The answer: marrying Lego with real plants! My first set was based on lord of the rings, posted here a few days ago. My second set is based on the Endor speeder bike chase scene. I recently submitted it as an entry in Lego Ideas, please help support it if you like it! Front view: Closeup: Side view - A buried stormtrooper: Back view: Another side view - an Ewok pit trap: Finally, a close up to look at soil containment ( I added some moss to match the greens): Appreciate any comments on what I could do to improve the set, and if you can spare some time, help support it in Lego Ideas. Thank you!
  7. thank you for the kind words! If you have a couple of minutes, please help vote it up here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/60805 Appreciate your support!
  8. Long term I think it would fade the color perhaps? I haven't had it for long enough to tell. Dirt and mold is fine as they can be washed away, what I discovered however is that soil sometimes can scratch Lego pieces that are in contact. I try to use old bricks that are "sacrificial bricks" for those purposes. so far no issues with dirt going through cracks! They seem to be tight enough.
  9. Hey guys, I recently started doing a series of flower pots using lego, depicting classic movie scenes. For the flower pot of Lord of the Rings, I chose the scene of the hobbits hiding from the nazgul. Check it out below and let me know your thoughts! I am also trying to garner support for the set on Lego Ideas, and if you like what you see below, please help support it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/60805 Frodo and Sam are terrified and hiding behind the roots The black rider's vantage point. A closer look on the soil containment holes at the bottom to allow water to flow through Let me know if you have any thoughts about how I could improve the set, and thank you for your support!
  10. Thanks you for the advice! I added more grass(see revised image above) and ordered some more trees on bricklink. Welcome more advice and also criticisms!
  11. Hi all, I am new to the board! I am a game designer that recently rekindled my love for Lego. The following set is based on a mobile game I made and released to the appstore 2 months ago. It is a tower defense game based on greek mythology. I submitted it to Lego Cuusoo: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/56670 Would appreciate any advice you seasoned AFOLs can give me, as I really want to improve the set. If you like the set, please help me support it as well. Thank you!
