  1. the iPhone 4 display runs at 960 x 640 at 326 dpi, so i optimized the wallpapers for that resolution. scaled images would look more pixelated.
  2. i decided to make some iPhone 4 Lego wallpapers that were optimized for the new Retina display. i thought other fans might appreciate these too, so i wanted to share. you can find screenshots and the download on my personal blog: iPhone 4 Lego wallpapers
  3. this is a fantastic creation! i featured it in my Lego design blog, Brickd. i love the wind-strewn items on the street. it creates a great atmosphere.
  4. luckily, this is just for fun and i have a bunch of hosting space, so i'm not looking to add ads, at least not until it gets insanely popular and i need dedicated hosting, which is a problem i'd be happy to have i could use type-ahead tags to yield categories, to keep it minimal. i use categories on my other blog, www.8bitkid.com, but find it often is tough to have a finite number of categories to classify everything under. what type of category system would be useful? by MOC classification? by builder? would you like them always exposed, or only searchable? also, how do you tend to use an archive? thanks for all of the feedback.
  5. i'm glad you like the simplicity. i know the layout can be polarizing, and i continue to make subtle tweaks. i'm looking into leveraging a custom-built blogging platform, but am using tumblr in the interim. i currently don't have comments enable, since i wanted to emphasize the photos. i was inspired by sites like dribbble.com and lovelypackage.com. i'll look into standardizing the title and byline fonts, but the header has to stay different until my logo deisng is completed. i've been debating categories. would you like them to classify creator, MOC type, or both? let me know any other feedback, it is definitely appreciated.
  6. i just had a fiscally-dangerous night on amazon tracking down as many of the old sets as i could. now i've got about 13 more waiting to be built :-) i hope they release more! i really like the packaging as well, although i'm not sure if i prefer the older wheel-top or the newer car-top.
  7. i know this is a little geographically off-topic, but i was curious if anyone knows of any events in Southern California? additionally, are there good sites to track events?
  8. also, you really should consider a prettier forum platform. i'm a big fan of Vanilla Forums, which is a lot more elegant than the standard phpBB. there may be migration tools available, depending on your current platform choice.
  9. thanks for the welcome. i also checked out your flickr, very cool stuff! i definitely will feature it on the blog.
  10. i am addicted to buying the small kits to do after work and as a quick break. i've actually now finished all of the available sets. is anyone else addicted to these models? also, any word on when the next sets might come out?
  11. thanks, it is great to have a place to talk lego
  12. howdy all, i'm new to this forum, but a lifelong lego fan. i just launched a new lego design blog, www.brickd.com. i know it is a crowded space, but i really wanted to focus on design and simplicity. please check it out, and let me know what you think. also, you can follow us on twitter via @brickd
