  1. Had my first attempt at the PaB wall today (in Leeds) - tried the packing route when getting lots of 2x1s, didn't quite manage the number suggested - I later figured out I'd missed a layer - but still managed to pick up quite a bit. Probably helps I got a couple more cupfuls than I'd intended to... Haven't finished counting yet, but the first 3 cups (all small) yielded: 714 off 2x1 bricks (lime green and a red brick colour) 184 off bamboo 638 off 1 stud round plates (all trans) 59 off lime green 2x1 tiles Having counted them all, and started on the big cup, I decided to try packing the big cup with 2x1s, and got 740 in there, and the lid looks like it's on...
  2. I'll be there - even the other half wants to go! :)
  3. Hello to you all, My name is Michael (though you probably guessed that from the user-name), I live in Yorkshire in the UK, and I've been an AFOL for about 6 months now. I used to play with Lego quite a bit when I was young, but eventually moved on to model railways before drifting off to university and adulthood! Soon after graduating I got a couple of Technic Sets (8455 Back Hoe, and 8421 Mobile Crane), which I built, played with for a while, then put away on a shelf for a few years. About a year ago, while at a loose end after Christmas, I bought myself a couple of Lego Train sets (having got back into railway modeling a couple of years earlier), which again, I built, played with briefly, but then put away. Fast forward to Easter, and I spotted that a Lego shop had opened in York, so decided to have a look (turns out it wasn't a brand store, but still had a reasonable selection to pick from) and was persuaded to get a Technic Helicopter. I had always wanted some technic lego when I was younger, but had to make do with a Space Monorail instead (which I recently recovered from my Mum's house), so having enjoyed building that, I carried on and got a couple more sets, then a few more, and pretty soon had a decent pile of Technic sets waiting to be built. In addition to the trains, and the technic, I've got some Star Wars (well, at half price, it would have been rude not to), and quite a lot of Chima (I saw the legend beasts in TRU when I was in chasing some Star Wars bargains, and bought the crocodile, I was hooked, and within a week had managed to get almost all of last years sets in the sales). Recently I finally made it to a Lego store (in Westfield) where I picked up my first Modular (Pet Shop - I've built the ground floor of the house, and I'm already thinking about buying some more), and being slightly intimidated by the pick-a-brick wall, found Eurobricks while Googling for advice on how to get the most from it. I started my first MOC at Christmas, using two Train Stations to build a bigger and better version - I quickly realised that I didn't have the pieces I'd need to complete it, and changed over to LDD to plan it. Now I just need to figure out how to get all the pieces I need to complete it...
