  1. Very cool - thanks for posting!
  2. My family purchases the advent calendar for Christmas every year, but we make all of them at once and use them as decorations around the house throughout the Christmas season!
  3. Very cool! Where did you get this?
  4. My cousin has applied for positions at LEGO multiple times. One part of the interview process involves being put into a room full of LEGOs and building something that represents yourself - how cool?!
  5. I saw something about this online the other day. Seems like a really big missed opportunity for LEGO, unless they were concerned about the small pieces being unsafe? Still, doesn't seem to make much sense.
  6. Cute idea to give to a fellow LEGO lover! My step dad once made something similar along with a LEGO heart for my mom for Valentine's Day. She loved it!
  7. This looks just like my cat Buddy! Would love to make a LEGO version of him!
  8. These are fantastic! i can't wait to see what else you come up with, you can make just about anything in unikitty form!
  9. When I was in the 8th grade, my teacher had us do an assignment in which we had to build an instrument that we could actually play. While it wasn't required to use LEGO bricks, I built a small guitar body from the bricks and attached strings. We had to play a song in front of the class so I think I did 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' or something simple. Something like this was really fun and challenging at the time, and students were able to be creative in their own way.
  10. I'm mlynb1992, or Miranda, and I'm a college student studying marketing at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. I've been studying online communities as a part of my Honors Thesis for almost a year, and have found this board to be really fun and insightful. I've been a FOL for quite some time now - I have a family member who collects and I love to help him build. I even made a LEGO dulcimer (a guitar of sorts) for a school project back in middle school... It played music and everything! Needless to say, my teacher loved it. Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm here... I hope to contribute to your community and get to interact with some of you. As far as my research goes, everything will be kept confidential unless I directly ask someone for permission to quote them. If you have any questions regarding myself or my research, please feel free to email me at mlynb1992@aol.com! :)
