  1. Instructions of modern sets are very simple, with steps of two parts. So don't worry!
  2. Very slowly i'm rebuilding the chassis as lxf. These days i don't have much time but i'll do it. :)
  3. my 8880 is on its wheels from 1994 and the only problems are dust and a couple of spiders. it is time to wash. :D
  4. i'm searching, but i don't find any LXF (not ldd, mistake) file for 8070. i'll see what can i do next days, i also need them for future. :D
  5. It was an option, but the first point for me was using 2 L motors, so no space. If an ldd file of 8070 esists, it is my pleasure to draw the mod. 8880 i suppose :D That was my last model built, but as a kid who only read instructions. I'm reading it is mythological, but i don't know why. Lol. One year ago with 8070 i discovered the studless in lego.. After the surprise i appreciate it a lot esthetically so i love both 8880 and 8070. :D About the second part: i don't care anymore about economical politic approach of companies.. I mod everything: car, motorbike, guitars, my Marshall etc.. They sell to me and i personalize to my needs.
  6. wow, i'm embaracced thank you! the funny part is that gearbox is a last minute idea during the "motorizing" work you can have fun a couple of days with this mod, but as i said, it is not perfect. continue to consider 8070 parts for GT500 :D anyhow, honored! i'll wait your work as a student facing more skillful teacher! is there any LDD for 8070? i'd like to modify it to share and also to store my ideas (lack of parts...) i noticed that users in this forum like also good filming. :D :D i'm italian, nothing near "Ferrari name" is hateful wht's the problem with 8653? R'nR !!! thank you
  7. Not so obvius if you don't know how big is che loader in "real life" ;)
  8. So... I know 8070 is old and you hateit, but i love it. :D and i'm also just come out from my dark age and so i'm very enthusiastic. :D this is my second work/mod with technic. i'm a noob and i'm learning, so comments, questions and opinions are welcome. instead of a lot of words, i made a video + photos. https://plus.google.com/photos/105094294360898128335/albums/5976708377902719649 it is not perfect, i don't have space to secure the axle of low gear, so there is some struggling in startups. but.. this is a mod and a good exercise.
  9. sorry guys, the 42030 and the 8043 are both in the same scale?
  10. Great job. Impressive. Did you see this video and the system with suspension to start up?
  11. in this (spectacular) video, you can see clearly how works "sospensions" in the rear axle.
  12. So make more pictures scansafatiche di un connazionale. ;) You have skills to be one of the greatest.. But the greatest are greatest also cause they makes detailed reportages and instructions. Think about this.
  13. I appreciate the use of servo, i see in a simple way for mod: 1m and two LA inside che loader and a usefull servo as a spare parts. :D
  14. sorry for the necroposting, but i finished my mod on 9398. this is my first ever original work with technic, i am very proud of it and i'd like to share. we know the problems with this (not) crawler, so i work hard to increase the perfomance. i made two new engine blocks with these features: -xl motors, but with the same overall height of the original one. you can see in photos a prototype at 90% near the original one. -no differentials, same gear reduction of the original one, incresead gear reduction before wheels. -4 studs larger, so a larger base for the crawler. this helps a lot with lateral tilt. you can see photos over a guitar case. the original can't stay in that inclination, and roll on the side. -suspensions layout reworked. front/lateral inclination helps a lot to decrease the center of gravity, without change the height of the crawler. with the new scheme, the height is equal to the original. it is possible to connect suspensions in the original point of the chassis, and the crawler will be 1 studs higher. -same steering angle of the orginal, but with reinforced axles, so now they don't bend under hight torque. -increased front angle attack with no part out of wheels, and for the same porpuse i removed the front bumper. -ansmann tires -the two new blocks are very strong, as the originals. this is my google+ album: https://plus.google....602721894295745 this is a video. it was night and very dark, but you can have an idea of performance i attach also the lxf file. :) motore 9398.lxf ps: apologize for english.
  15. i notice now the 3/6 hole difference. :D to my eyes everything works really good. :)
  16. i'd like to give my contribution. now i have my set of Ansmann tyres. the new site is this one http://www.ansmann-r...startseite.html where you can find OLD part codes (211000224) instead of the new code 552110224 i buy them here http://www.ebay.it/itm/141137894706?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 they fit well with two option, using or not the two channel in lego rims (i'm not using). As you can see in photos the logo is changed from AR to KRT two words about rims: according to bricklink http://www.bricklink...sp?P=44772&in=S , the same 44772 rim is teorically present in both sets 9398 and 42000, but this is not real!!!! on the left 42000 rim, on the right the 9398 one. on the right you can see horizontal lines for support (i don't know how to call, apologize me) i choose the second one.
  17. When i was a child i played a lot with lego... growing up i built a 8868 and a 8880 (and i seen also the one in 1:1 scale built in lego). stop of my lego adventures. I think it's the fault of the girls :D growing up a little more (i'm 30 now), one year ago i was in a store with my actual girlfriend and i started to watch the 8070. "why don't you present me this one for Christmas?" it was a joke for me, but she saw my shining-baby-eyes... and so the 8070 was my christmas gift. i built it, i enjoyed the evolution of lego, and i put the 8070 near my 8868 and 8880. i started to watch a lot of youtube video about mod but i didn't have parts... another year is gone, my girlfriend now is very far away from me for job... but in spite of everything this Christmas she made me another surprise: now i have also the 9398. too much: now i play again with lego and i bought some extra parts to do my mods. :D i started to study, i saw a lot of video, at the end i started to read this forum and each day i discovered the authors of my favourite videos in these pages. i'm not good with lego, my english is bad, and i can't be an active member of the community. probably i'm writing only to say thanks to all for this great forum. and to tell you my love story, each one will decide if this one is with lego or with my girlfriend. :) Thank You!
