  1. Am I not allowed to join, or have people just not noticed my post yet?
  2. Ooh, I'd quite like to get some tips . Not sure if I'm allowed to post pictures yet but I'd like to get some experience- there are a lot of sets I could review!
  3. I have a further problem, I created an entire topic showing one of my MOCs, but at the last minute it told me I was not allowed to. Is this because I'm only a Vassal or some other reason. If it is I do think it should be more clear what we can and can't do at different levels within the site.
  4. Hello, Cameron here! There was a confusing note in the MOC hints section which claimed multiple building techniques were 'illegal'! I was confused not only at this but also because one of these was a method which I use for sheep and other animals, and even some minifigs, in which you place a 1x1 cone into the standard LEGO brick. Can anyone help me out with this? Is it really illegal!?
  5. Just beautiful, Svelte! Though I must ask, did you get more pearl gold domes from Bricklink, did you buy multiple sets or do they all appear naturally. I must also ask what the orange saddle piece is from!
  6. As something of a Harry Potter nerd I can tell you that the car actually only appears in the Chamber of Secrets, it was something JK said she forgot to include in the last book. But beside I think most of these sets are designed to be amagalgams of all the books/movies.
  7. Very nice! Simple and Sweet in true lego style! I like the idea of creating a new version of the Shrieking Shack, rather than a copy of the film version. And bonus points for being absolutely nothing like the LEGO version!
  8. Ah! Thank you very much. Somewhat Ironically, I believe it was this last post that made me a Vassal. Funny old world!
  9. For some reason I am unable to look at profiles, including my own. I would quite like to know if i've broken a rule or there is something i'm missing.
  10. In reality for me this is one of those 'too good to be true' sets, much like Grand Emporium and the UCS line. They are priced fairly usually, but it's too high for a large proportion of LEGO's market. Myself, I'm simply unwilling to spend that much money on LEGO - presuming this set will be around £130 - especially since I'm still unsure if I'm going to get the £100 pound Hogwarts. LEGO reduce the price of their sets after a certain amount of time sometimes - it's what happened with Medieval Market Village - which when I first saw it was £100, however recently I got it from Lego.com for £70. Perhaps if I become an AFOL when I grow up, but as of now I wish LEGO would consider perhaps making some sets of that quality, but at a lower pricepoint. So far the only line I feel do this is Creator.
  11. Hi! I'm from Newcastle and I was wondering if there were any other 'Geordie' LEGO fans, AFOL, TFOL or young'ns. Personally I think Newcastle is non-ideal when it comes to LEGO - there isn't an official LEGO shop within 300 miles, and many of the shops stock only selective sets. So, I'm not sure if this will be a successful topic since Newcastle is a small part of the world, but hey, it's worth a try!
  12. By far my favourite set is Medieval Market Village
  13. Well I hate to rain on a parade but is WWII really something to joke about?
  14. Yes, well there is quite a long story to the MIDAS thing. It was a plot element of the TV Program 'Heroes' which i used to really like so I used it as a name there and it pretty much stuck. I also played him in a school play so i never realized how apt it was. My favourite theme - well, to me the creator sets are always very much worth their money, licensed sets usually have a bit more to them, but usually for a higher price. The line that has given me the nicest set so far is Castle, with the brilliant Medieval Market Village - but it's the only 2007 Castle set I have! But apart from that I do like Indiana Jones and City very much! It's a shame IJ seems to have been discontinued, there were a few more sets that could've been done!
  15. Just wondering if there was a LEGO Store in Newcastle, and if not did anyone know where the nearest one is. Newcastle is in the North East of England by the way.
