Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Steam Engineer replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
I would'nt worry to much about it mate, it happends, scary thing about it is you could have probably bought all the pieces for it from bricklink, built it exactly how its ment to be using the manual from peeron for a hell of alot less, i know because i'm currently working on a modded version of that ship & its nowhere near cost me that amount & mines double the size, different scheme & some slight changes but the original look is there *sweet* Nick :'-)- 502 replies

Thank you Asuka, cant see very much at that angle, i actually made the whole section wider by about 2 studs, few more shots here of that rear section. Folder for Commander the mediator was just a matter of a simple yet effective change of color scheme. Folder for Mediator Nick

Hi Guys, Think this probably my 2nd or 3rd time posting in this part of the Eurobricks forums, just thought i'd show you this, i'm not sure if this has been done before but i'm really happy with how it turned out... & here it is my Ice planet themed Galactic Mediator set 6984. Always wanted this ship as a kid, ice planet was always a favourite theme of mine so i thought why not try & combine one of my favourite ships with a favourite theme. Hope you like ;-) Nick >:-)

Hello, I see what you mean with the sails, never thought of it like that X-D Although Plain black sails would be an excellent idea *y* As for the mast still having trouble with those, i seem to be making them a little to thick & the width of the ship doesnt help :-/ heres a few pics... It could just be the way i have them placed but they look abit odd, saying that they only temperate until i get the round techic pieces. Isla Tortuga LoL X-D Nick

Hello, Mr Tiber, Well, with the ship not being very wide (12 studs) the prefab cannons could be a little to big, however when i rebuild the hull using sloped pieces i may put some of the prefab cannons below top deck & use the custom ones for the top deck... I'm also thinking about making the ship wider (4 studs) & possibly longer so at this stage its hard to say how many cannons the ship will have exactly :-/ Mister Phes, Yes sails will custom made, heres a design ive found for the sails which i quite like... Nick ;-)

Hello, Yea its not final yet, still playing around with the idea of having it like this but all in black... Yes i will be using sloped elements, these to be exact... Just experimenting with different black & yellow pieces really ;-) Oh & Phred, glad that helped you out *y* Also working on the masts, so should have those pictured & up soon... Nick :-D

Hi, 1. the gray rounded technic bricks will eventually be yellow, with this black rounded technic piece in between, these will be the sides of the windows, windows will be these pieces 2. Yes they are Mr Tiber, i'm thinking of doing the hull all in yellow, i'm trying to keep with a yellow/black overall outlook on the ship. & Yes could you change the topic title to *Penance* of pride please, never noticed the typo 8-| Not sure which piece you mean exactly but the center piece is this, if so its a Technic connector, comes under Technic on bricklink. Nick ;-)
-
Resized as requested *y* Indeed it is Mister Phes :-D Ok heres some of the crew, the Captain is the centre one. & Now a few pics of there ship, alot of modifications to be made still... For more pics, see my link above :-|| Nick ;-)

Hello all *y* Well after saying i'd post some pics of my ship ive finally got round to getting them uploaded to brickshelf in order to let you see how i'm getting on, its still very work in progress so bare with me & i'll get some more up to date pics posted as i progress... However heres my gallery on how ive got so far... Penance of Pride - Work in Progress You'll notice alot of the pieces need changing for different colours once i get then from bricklink, i'm not entirely happy with the cabin area either, so that will all most likly be changed, no cannons or masts yet, still working on those ;-) Hope you enjoy the pics, oh & excuse the mess in the middle of decorating my home :-$ Nick

Hello there! I'm Nick, 24 years old, just thought i'd drop by this part of the forum to say hello to everyone *y* ive always had a keen interest in lego since the age of about 5y/o i remember one of the first sets i bought was a town set, cant remember the name & number of the actual set but i know it had black spanners & a blue carjack may have been somekind of mechanic set, then started to collect space ;-) I also have keen interests in classic space, mainly Mtron, Blacktron1&2, Iceplanet, Insectoids. Pirates, although never had an actual ship of my own, iam currently building a MOC ship, will post pics soon. Nick :-D

I was thinking of using that exact piece along with this part Support 2x2x11 just to add a little height, but i wasnt entirely sure if you could run a technic axle through the center of that support piece :-$ Nick *sweet*

Hello all ;-) Just a quick post to ask your advice on what i could use to build masts for my MOC ship, i dont have the actual lego ones so i'm thinking until i get the money to buy them from bricklink maybe i can build my own out of some spare parts i already have lying around.... I'll post some pics of my ship so far on the MOC section of the forum X-D Meanwhile, any suggestions on what i could use for the masts would be much appreciated! Thanks Nick :-D

Great MOCs all of them, very inspirational, been a pleasure to view *y* Nick :)

Steam Engineer replied to Steam Engineer's topic in General LEGO Discussion

Hi all, I'm new to the boards, so still learning to find my way around them, my question is where can i buy single lego parts online? (UK sites only) I have a few personal creations planned, but a complete lack of parts required i'd greatly appreciate it if someone could kindly help me out. Thanks Nick *knight*
