  1. Hello! Obviously inspired by Gandalf's staff is the staff I carved for Gronlif: The staff of Borrhos is kind of tricky, because the old Technic bush doesn't fit on regular bars, but only on Fabuland umbrella stands that have the same shape but are made of different material: The top of Greisbart's staff unfortunately is held in place only by gravity: And finally, the staff of Gulwaith: (Pics = links) Bye Jojo
  2. Hello! So am I. (And sorry for re-opening a one year old thread.) Memory can betray you, not you personally, but you in general. It happens to me all the time. However, there is no other yellow Castle besides the ones already mentioned, that could be built out of the box according to printed building instructions. Well, there's one other, sort of, but there are no instructions for it (pic = link): (And of course now there is 6193.) Bye Jojo
  3. Hello! You are right, most of these names come from pirate novels like Treasure Island (which, by the way, I knew almost by heart back than, in German translation of course). Some of the names and actual figures are directly inspired by Lego, though: This fellow is Captain Baddog from Lego's own Pirate Comic "The Golden Medaillon" http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6255 I don't know, though, if the names are the same in the English version. This fellow, Ebenezer McBlack, is also from aforesaid comic, I just invented the first name: The corresponding stories on my homepage are mostly fiction. Bye Jojo
  4. Hello! As for the lamps: There are two golden radar dishes built in, one on top, one below. The gold ornaments are, of course, meant to be brass, as there was much brass on ships because it's corrosion-resistant. And no, there is not a whole ship under this quarterdeck. As I said before: It's all just backdrops. :-) Bye Jojo
  5. Hello! Thanks, Nathan, for the hint. OK.... Those customized Pirate figures were done between 1988 (this fellow Bertrand d'Orgeron ) and 1996, when the first brown and dark grey minifig parts were available. I used mostly paper (coloured pencils, outlines with fine ink pen) and some cloth for the bandannas. When I did these figures I didn't aim to resemble the look of official Lego figures, but I rather wanted them to have
  6. Hello! He's a pirate as good as any. And so is she: BTW, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but all these background scenes are strictly built for the camera. So the rear of the warehouse looks like this: And right now i have no intention to build a whole harbour, as much as I would enjoy it. I simply don't have the room. Bye Jojo
