Stilzkin Bridge Launcher
Xevus replied to mahjqa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm looking at the pictures on flickr, and have some questions 1) Did you really used 16 (!!!) those rubber flexible axle connectors ? 2) Looking at the video, it seems that first one of the LA on the bridge fully extends, before second one starts working. How did you achieved this ? 3) Any chance you could post a parts list ? -

Well, yes, but once again, it rises the same question :) The only Stilzkin that google knows of is a moogle from Final Fantasy. -

This is simply brilliant. Disconnecting bridge is probably the best function i've ever seeen. How did you made it so it slides off the axle so easily ? P.S. Also, what exactly is "Стилзкин" :) ? -
I think i have arrived to the point when i want more than just building vanilla sets. There are couple of ideas that i have in mind, such as fully motorized backhoe or tracked excavator (not very original, i know). But i have absolutely zero idea where and how to start. Some helpful advices would really be appreciated :)

8295 Telescopic Handler Review
Xevus replied to ZO6's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have a question for owners of this set - where this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61905 is used in the model ? I couldn't find a step where it is used, and it is not marked as extra on BL inventory. Seems kinda weird. -
2847c03 Electric battery box
Xevus replied to Xevus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, my impression was that collectors are ready to pay a premium for original box and instructions, so loose parts would be cheaper than complete set. Guess i was wrong. Also, how did you come with 1914 parts, Brickset says it has 1884 parts ? 220$ (with shipping i assume) actually sounds pretty reasonable. -

To my surpise a complete set of parts for that set comes out around 310-320 USD without shipping. Is this an usual situation ? Being new to Lego, i was kinda expecting that buying by parts would be much cheaper, something like $150. -

Ok, thanks a lot everyone. My main concern was that this part could use custom sealed batter, which by this time would obviously gone bad. Since this isn't the case, i would try to get an original part then. -
Hi. I really want to build famous 8421, however i don't like the idea of paying more than $300 for the set. Thus, i've come to an idea about building it on my own, using parts from other sets that i have and buying missing ones from BL. While analyzing inventory for 8421, i've found this piece - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2847c03 It is fully assembled enclosure with battery inside, which cannot be replaced ? Can this part be replaced with something else ?
