Commander Turtle Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Here is my first topic on Eurobricks and my first mech: the Orion Mechanica. I normally build cars so I didn't have high expectations for this. Luckily it surpassed them. I liked the idea of a completely sealed cockpit as in the Evangelion series, so I went ahead and designed my own. Seats one minifig driver, who sees the world through screens rather than through any windscreen. The cockpit pod is removeable (see video), and both the hatch and the neck are sprung with elastic bands to make it a bit more tactile. Somewhat poseable legs, though it only has 2 positions it can stand in. I have developed a building standard called "Alice-proof". This means that if placed in front of my flatmate Alice, it takes her longer than 90 seconds to break it. This is the first model in a long time that passed that test.
