Book II: Challenge 1 (A) - Yellow Man in a Yellow House

Kelstro, Master of Riddles, is the guest of Lord Sulfuro Saffron, an industrious entrepreneur living in the foothills beyond the Kelra Labyrinth. Kelstro is admiring the fine yellow house when a terrific noise erupts outside.

"YEEEAARRRGGGHHH! Come out, Nocturnus dog, and face the might of Borak Blackbeard!"

Kelstro shuffles over to the balcony.

"Hello?"

"I am Borak, scourge of the Black Spire! None can stand before my wicked sword and spiked mace. Face me and die!"

Kelstro blinks, then overturns his cup of wine, splashing the Black Spire warrior.

Borak splutters.

"How DARE you, vile Nocturnus cur!? I will have your head for this! Come down and be torn asunder!"

"I flicker and die here only to rise again elsewhere.

I have brought help and harm since the dawn of man.

Tamed I am a tool, yet handle me with care. - what am I?"

The helmeted figure crinkles his brow. No time to answer 'fire' before Kelstro drops a torch down off the balcony, igniting Borak's wine-soaked clothes.
