Hi everyone! Not really active here, but building a lot...

For a Lego train-event in Norrköping, Sweden, I built this fantasy train, inspired by the Bond-movie "Golden Eye". This is my first try at this area. The train set is pure imagination, set in a future time where small nuclear power plants fuels our vehicles. The tender holds tha actual reactor and the engine is electric. A cargo carrier was added to the set to make it more fun to display.

The whole train set is build as 8+ wide (I think it is almost 10 studs wide including the snotted tiles/armor plating) but it runs on regular Lego tracks. My initial idea was to use a triple-boogie setup on the engine, but it did not work IRL (except as a static display piece). The train is powered by PF-components, all of them inside the engine.

I like this! There's plenty of interesting detailing on such a grey train. It'd be perfect for my plans....

Possible upgrade...

Replace the nuclear reactor with a Mr. Fusion cold reactor as in Back To the Future.

Just kidding.

Seriously, the train looks great! Indeed very much like the GoldenEye train. I might steal be inspired by it and make my own.

Awesome train there, as said before the detailing is exquisite. If you had said I made a train and it's all grey, I would have thought how boring, but there is nothing boring about this design, all the details and features make it really pop despite the mono-tone colouring!!

And I love Golden Eye so it's

Excellent job and happy building

Thank You everyone for the nice responses! :classic:

As a first-time train builder, this is inspiring and there will be more in the future. A few passenger cars would be nice to add, in the same size/scale as the cargo carrier of course.

The driver compartment of the train is fully equipped with control panels, seat for one minifig driver and the mandatory coffe cup. It is hard to take descent pictures of, but I could try.

Regarding the mono-color approach - this is the way I prefer to build. To create detail primary by structure, not by color. And this is supposed to be military of some kind... :classic:
