Hi all,

I present my LDD model of a Spanish bed-car, 9600 series (bc10x-96xx) in "Renfe operadora" Scheme. in 7wide, it is long, very long to be more realistic but i think it do not work in "usual" lego curves :cry_sad:

This is a bed car created in 1984 for night train lines in Spain, nowadays it only one night line working in Spain the "Estrella Costa Brava" (Madrid-Barcelona) :hmpf_bad:

This is the real one:

I think the stairs should be changed. They stick out a bit too far to match the prototype. But very nice for everything else.

Edit- Actually, looking at this again, I see the stairs are fairly recessed. Though I still dont think they as good as they could be.

A great looking build, that has to be about 60 studs long. My longest passenger cars are around 52 studs and they drag into regular curves, I've settled on 42 studs as being my trade off between realistic length and making it through lego curves. If you cut out two compartments you could probably get it around regular curves, but pull it with a powerful locomotive, e.g., EN. If you are contemplating running it, you might want to use the regular train wheels though, the technic axle wheels have a lot of drag. AFOLs need a good wide radius curve, but getting back on topic...

The interior detailing and opening doors are great touches.

Nice model but have to agree on the curves. Like the others I have settled on 42-44 studs (Mine are 7 studs wide as well.) as a reasonable trade off for length versus reality. We would all like our trains to look real, but you have to remember that they are after-all made of LEGO so have to conform to LEGO railway curvature. Nonetheless, though a nice example of this type of carriage of which generally we do many of nowadays on the railways..

Thanks for the replies.

For your information, this model is only to "display" use and i prefer to made more realistic, for me does not matter if it work or not in standard lego curves, but, it work in smooth lego curves made with only straight track.
