So, for my next build, I wanted to work a little larger than Moodland (or Miniland) scale, but smaller than minfig scale so it wouldn't take me months to build. I call it Midi-Mood Scale! I wanted to build a red SW Mobile Suit and the first character that came to mind was the Imperial guards. So, I took a bit of inspiration and look from the Crimson Empire series and combined that with Kir Kanos's and his TIE Interceptors looks. I do plan on building more "real" SW characters at this scale. Let me know what you all think! :classic:

Another great 'gundam style' creation MOOD! My favorite part is the light saber weapon.

Thanks, man! The saber was inspired by Kir Kanos's staff in the Crimson Empire series.

Another scale? :poke:

Quality work, as always, Mood. I like the little patches of greys and greebles that you've worked in. Always love seeing the imaginative crossover builds you come up with.

Huh. I wonder if this build was overlooked? I usually get a few more comments by now...(crickets chirping)

I think part of it might be unfamiliarity with the source material. I had to think for a few moments before completely making the connection between red TIE/in and the Imperial Guards. I must admit that I've never really read up on the Crimson Empire storyline that much (or maybe that supports my point), but the first thing I saw before looking a little more closely and thinking a little harder about the EU was a red mecha, not an Imperial Guard. It's a great model, just not instantly recognizable as a Star Wars model, I think. That being said, I'm not sure how many options there are for largely bright red vehicles in Star Wars... the only one I can think of in the six movies is the Radiant VII.

Thanks, Doc! I've actually never read the Crimson Empire books, but I like Kir Kanos's look and the look of his TIE fighter.
