Farnheim Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Hello everybody. It's been quite a while since I have posted my recent MOC. It's a busy period for me at the moment. So I haven't got that time to browse this forum as much as I want to. But I am still in business and I built a few new mocs during the past. Especially fire apparatus. And some of them I wanted to show to you today. My emergency vehicles needed a visual update so badly. Packed with fresh ideas from the Cologne "Fanwelt" past November and several new parts I started to rebuilt most of these vehicles. So I took the chance to gave them a new and highly noticable paint scheme as well. The first one is a car for the paramedic which will be deployed with another ambulance in a so called "rendevous system", which is very popular and an effective possibility for an emergency rescue (not only) in germany. The second car is the ambulance used for that "rendevous systrem" mentioned above. The third vehicele is an emergency car driven by the executive paramedic. He manages all the actions for the rescuers at huge incident sites. The whole new rescue-fleet Last but not least, here are, for a little comparison, some pics of old cars I built back in 2009. They are gone for good. Sorry, for the bad photos. So, this is it for today. I know, it's a bunch of photos. I hope you have some fun watching this. Critics and comments very welcome. Best regards, Farnheim Quote
eurotrash Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Generally, it's difficult to get the proportions and details right in a 4-wide as it's not a very forgiving width to use, but in this case I really like what you've done. I think you've created a good range of vehicles here and I think there's some great detail work Farnheim. I particularly like the second vehicle. Thanks for sharing it with us! Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Great work ' Farnheim', true 4 wide is hard to work with that's why I love 6 wide........but you have done a fantastic job on each one ! Brick On ' Farnheim' ! Quote
Artifex Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Very, very nice! I love the classic style! Although I love 6-wide nowadays, those 4-wide brings so many good memories! And it is really nice to see how the new models compare to the ones from 2009. Quote
antp Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Very nice vehicles, I prefer 4-wide for cars & vans, to me these are "more Lego" as they were like that when I was kid Quote
L@go Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 While I prefer the modern LEGO car look, these take me right back to the sets I grew up with, and you're incredibly good at incorporating new elements into the old-fashioned style. These could easily have been modern sets, if LEGO had stuck by the way they designed vehicles in the '90s. And, by the way, your army (that's the only word to describe it) of emergency vehicles in Cologne was most impressive to see. For those of you who weren't there, have a look at these two pictures... :D Quote
monsinjor Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Very nice. Classics bring back the memories. Great work Quote
greg3 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Ah.... just like the good old days!! They may not be super realistic but I love them!! Quote
Farnheim Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Thank you for the kind comments. @ L@go: You're right. The word "Army" would match most. Well, it was also the first time for me to see the whole bunch of cars all together. My table was... that red: And it was a pleasure for me to meet you there. Quote
