Ludzik Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Just over a week ago I picked up Anakin's Jedi Interceptor (9494). After putting it together, I had very mixed feelings.... while the overall shape felt good, upon closer look I wasn't too happy with the "balance" of the build. The wings seemed to be a bit big and clumsy and I hated the fact that the cockpit had so many "leaks". While pondering what to do about it, I came across a Lego Star Wars book which showed all the "historical" sets. In that book there were two sets that grabbed my attention:"7258: Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid" and "7661: Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring". Those two sets felt a bit more balanced but I didn't completely like the "undercarriage" though I loved the fact that they had landing gear.... One thing I"m not 100% still happy with though is the centerline of the under carriage... I think I almost got it... but it's not there yet.... Thoughts???? So after a morning of struggling with ideas I came up with this Quote
Only Sinner Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hey, nice MOD. Sometimes you just have to do yourself what TLG should've done to begin with. It's as if they got to a certain point and just stop designing the set. Either that or they add some randomly redundant feature. I imagine it all has to do with piece count, design budget and marketing. Quote
DarthPotato Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Nice job. It definitely looks smaller than the Lego Anakin's fighter and more compact (as it should be) and I like how you added a landing hear, especially considering that set didn't have one. Quote
