Just over a week ago I picked up Anakin's Jedi Interceptor (9494). After putting it together, I had very mixed feelings.... while the overall shape felt good, upon closer look I wasn't too happy with the "balance" of the build. The wings seemed to be a bit big and clumsy and I hated the fact that the cockpit had so many "leaks". While pondering what to do about it, I came across a Lego Star Wars book which showed all the "historical" sets. In that book there were two sets that grabbed my attention:"7258: Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid" and "7661: Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring". Those two sets felt a bit more balanced but I didn't completely like the "undercarriage" though I loved the fact that they had landing gear....

One thing I"m not 100% still happy with though is the centerline of the under carriage... I think I almost got it... but it's not there yet....

Thoughts????

So after a morning of struggling with ideas I came up with this

Hey, nice MOD. Sometimes you just have to do yourself what TLG should've done to begin with. It's as if they got to a certain point and just stop designing the set. Either that or they add some randomly redundant feature. I imagine it all has to do with piece count, design budget and marketing.

Nice job. :classic: It definitely looks smaller than the Lego Anakin's fighter and more compact (as it should be) and I like how you added a landing hear, especially considering that set didn't have one.
