KimT Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Today's review will be of the 1981 set: 6870 Space Probe Launcher This is a great set. First of all You get one of these: Also the colour scheme is good. A grey launcher transport with a white "probe" *wub* The "probe" is simple, but still a great small spacecraft. As always the lack of an engine and so on could be discussed, but hey this is LEGO and not reality. Maybe the launcher hurls the probe into orbit and let the rest be up to the small gravity that may be? Sort of like a glider? ;-) The set allows loads of play. The transport can twist and turn and also the launchpad can be raised or lowered. The "probe" is easy to "attach" or "dis-attach" when played with. This set is a good addition and holds many good bricks for classic space MOCs. Definately a "must have" IMO KimT Quote
Starwars4J Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Wonderful old set that doesn't look too expensive. Gah, you always make me want to increase my Classic Space collection! Quote

Captain Roger Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 is a small but nice set...like lots of space sets...nothing to say...only is a nice vehicle....the ship bring me memories of a spyrius set Quote
xenologer Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 I wish some modern sets would make those old rocket nozzle bricks more widely available... at best you'd find !1! in a big 50 fire station acting as a loudspeaker... Modern spaceship MOCs tend to lack good manuvering thrusters.... Quote
Hobbes Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 That close-up of the minifig looks sooo cool... I've always liked those classic Space guys... :'-) Quote
