Si-MOCs Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Edit: I reworked the shuttle based on feedback to make it truer to Steam Punk traditions... may I present mark 2: Steamier-Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle - mark 2 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Steamier-Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle - mark 2 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Steamier-Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle - mark 2 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Not sure if this belongs in Star Wars or Sci-Fi... but I figure since it's based off of Star Wars build I'll start here (Mods - feel free to move this). -- One of my co-conspirators for Star Wars Day - Toronto (in support of Sick Kids) built a fantastic Steampunk X-Wing. It looked so cool I had to build something to go along with it. So I present my Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle: SteamPunk Imperial Shuttle by Si-MOCs, on Flickr SteamPunk Imperial Shuttle by Si-MOCs, on Flickr SteamPunk Imperial Shuttle by Si-MOCs, on Flickr SteamPunk Imperial Shuttle by Si-MOCs, on Flickr This would be my first Steam Punk and SW build based off an existing design... Vindicare Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Awesome! I love all the bits on the wings and such. Do the wings fold up, too? I like parts on the wings that mimic the mechanism that reels the wings in(by rope/cables, whichever). Or maybe they're just there, I don't know. As I always say, where's the steam?! You could maybe connect some to the brown wheels on the back? Assuming they're the engines... Quote
JackJonespaw Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 This is now one of my favorite MOCs I've ever seen! I love how you've done the overall shape of the shuttle, made it recognizable, but still made it look Steam punk. Great job! Quote
Aeroeza Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Steam! STEAM! Give it steam! 'Cause it sure looks real punky!!! Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 My favorite Imperial ship and you’ve done a great job with this steam punk version. I love all the gears on the wings, excellent details! Quote
Si-MOCs Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 The wings do fold up! Though not well :( The used to fold up great but after I added all the steam-greeble it doesn't anymore... I decided the cool look was cooler than functionality - so I left it as is. -- Haahh told you guys I was a steampunk noob - I forgot the steam! Can we pretend that the ship is docked and not powered up? Okay I'll go back tonight and add some steam... I think I have a few ideas... Hopefully I can make it work. Quote
Oky Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Very cool. Like others have said, it looks very steampunkish while still being instantly recognizable. However, I think you overdid it a bit with the greebling. Most of it doesn't seem to serve any purpose and the wings just look cluttered with all that random stuff on them. I would get rid of some of it, especially if it keeps the wings from folding properly as you say. Other than that, great work! Quote
tormentalous Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 That's is a really nice looking steam punk version. I love all the detailing in you've put into it! Quote
dr_spock Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Nice and steamy. Looking forward to seeing it in person tomorrow. Quote

I agree, I was rushing and didn't really 'plan' or think this through, I just added greeble and gears for gear sake... I've scaled it back a bit and remembered to add steam again: Steamier-Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle - mark 2 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Steamier-Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle - mark 2 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Steamier-Steam Punk Imperial Shuttle - mark 2 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr Quote
Brickmamba Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 wow this looks really good, well executed for a steampunk but still resembles the original shuttle Quote
Nom Carver Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 This is one of the best steampunk creations I have seen! Quote
The Blue Brick Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 This creation is amazing. It looks just like the Imperial, but in steampunk. I love the use of colors and how you created the steam in the back. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Wow! Thats a pretty nice shuttle. You did a good job of balencing steam punk with star wars. Love the barrel engines. Quote
