kyphur Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 As discussed here, I have no idea when I would be able to get around to it (especially with SCUBA season right around the corner), just wondering if anyone else has thought of this. BTW, I do have the official LEGO Model, Set #4533: I find it cute but somewhat lacking... Quote
Tearloch Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I remember seeing a couple of MOCs on this topic (but don't have any links). Any luck hunting through Flickr or MOCPages? Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 The Lego version didn't really appeal to me. I envisioned my town free of cold, snowy, weather because of southern beach style. That and it seemed a bit to unconventional,; driver exposed and such. After a bit of searching I found a previous topic on a rotary snow plow I saw a while back. Most of the photos and links have been moved or deleted but, luckily a real good example still exists! Here is 'Monteur's Damfschneeschleuder (steam snowplow) on Brickshelf. It's a really great design and nice to see again. Hope this gives you some inspiration! Quote
kyphur Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 Here is 'Monteur's Damfschneeschleuder (steam snowplow) on Brickshelf. Now that's what I'm looking for! AWESOME... While I won't make mine Steam Powered I'll surely use his impeller design. Since my reading on these units says they all seem to have their own power-plant but only use is to power the impeller I think I might borrow an idea from the LEGO Official set and drive the impeller using wheels in contact with the track (so no on board electrics) and have a Loco push the unit along the tracks.
