Front Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Ok, something I've made, hope you enjoy. Click on images to see in large versions on flickr. No torso part. Torso built up with bones in a three dimensional structure, highly flexible. On the move, while shooting. Tying his shoe laces. Stepping in an ant nest, he's not an entomologist. Stripped down to the bones. Comments are welcome. Erland, Part Design. Quote
Dorek Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) It's creations like this that really show off the versatile capabilities of the new building system. BIONICLE really trapped us in limited joint stylings, but this has just given us so much creative freedom. Amazing model. Great job keeping in tune with Splitface's dual aesthetic. The thighs look a little weird without any particular armoring on them, though. The feet are brilliant; never would have thought to use 1.0 stylings translated into 2.0 feet like that, but it works. The arms seem a little lanky with the extra joint, but I guess it might be hard to move them around otherwise. On the whole, a very interesting and well-laid out MoC. Also, I don't recall seeing that blade come in gunmetal anywhere; a sign of things to come, or are you just exercising designer privileges? =P Edit: Nevermind, Rattlecopter. I need to get me some of that. Edited January 17, 2012 by Dorek Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Really cool! I love the body structure of this, and the continuous division of the red and grey Quote
Rocketbilly Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) An outstanding MOC. This really shows off how versatlie the new Hero Factory system can be, and it's also a great version of Splitface. It's definitely made my fortnight-long wait for my copy of the set a little less bearable! I tried making a torso similar to the one you've made here, but sadly was missing a few pieces from my recent PaB order to finish it properly. AH well! I love the use of gunmetal here too...and the usage of the new Ninjago blade as a weapon....hmm...I wonder if we'll see that in the Summer? perhaps alongside a motorcycle....and purple?... Very nice inspring MOC! Edited January 18, 2012 by Rocketbilly Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 This looks great, but I do think the upper legs and lower torso pieces should have some kind of armor. The MOC itself, overall, looks great though. I really love the use of red bone pieces to further separate Splitface's two sides. Quote
ZORK64 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 That's a fantastic MOC, Front! I'm really tempted try something similiar now. Oh btw, I didn't knew until now where that neat katana comes from. Great, now I want to buy a 29,99€ set just for 3 katanas. XD Quote
Cirkit Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Heh, that ant picture was pretty funny.. Color scheme's kept the same, and the face (there really isn't any changing that), but everything else.. Your MOC does look very flexible. It's well armored, and flexible. Nice. I quite like the pieces on the front that connect to the back of the legs as well, sort of like the FireLord leg build, very nice. Those feet too.. That claw-shredder/gun is pretty hard to miss. I think it would be pretty hard to miss with that kind of weapon.. man. The Rattlecopter blade I like too.. I just might have to pick that set up. This is a fantastic MOC, Front. I think you've inspired me to have a go at building something like it. Cirkit Quote
