gcanik Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 So far my father for a Christmas present this past year (2011) I designed and built a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Car and piece of track to display it on. The origin for this project was that my father after 22 years retired this year from running pinewood derbies as a fundraiser for our former Troop 207 based out of Gaithersburg, Maryland. He ran the Cub Scout Pinewood Derbies for almost all of the Cub Scout Packs based in the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) encompassing parts of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.). In the the preceeding 22 years he figures he ran nearly 12,000 derbies totalling almost 45,000 pinewood derby cars. So this was built for him to display in his new office. The track without car, there are four black cheese slopes to prevent the car from rolling off. Underneath view depicting the weights added to the car to make it go down the track faster. Quote
