lego-maniac Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) FIRST CONTACT // L13 contest on BrickPirate Panic on the planet GLU-TRON3. While energy resources are running on their planet, a delegation decided to send a reconnaissance craft off in search of their valuable "energy". Inhabitants of a land too Arrid, wheat protein called GLUTEN main source of their food, can no longer be cultivated. Observing the Earth for years, they chose the depths of Texas for the weather patterns similar to their planet. As they approach the Earth's atmosphere, their ship suffered a technical failure after several hundred years of travel in the cosmos without any problems. After a forced aterrisage but more or less successful, the pilot in the cockpit is locked prison lazy. His companions then decided to go for help. Luckily at that time Bill Wintershield returned fields. Accustomed to this way, Bill did not pay attention to what is happening around him and sees, too late unfortunately, the alien in the middle of the road trying to wave to the driver. This is the true story of first contact between an alien and a human pick-up: laugh: more pics: more pics of the ship : Comments are welcome ! I hope you'll enjoy ! Skipper Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Poor LGM . . . I really like the cartoonish effect of braking on the car, very well done. The interior is surprising to me, I had thought that the inside would just be a bunch of structural support for the shape. Great MOC! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Love it! You absolutely nailed the hard brake posing of the pickup. The rock formation is quite nice, as well. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 OH NO! WOn'ts SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE LGM! Wow absolutely fanatic build. The ship itself is well build and the crash landscaping is wonderful, but what made me laugh was the LGM being run over Fantastic idea having the swappable pavement. Heck even the truck is nicely done! How did you manager to do the truck blur? BTW you forgot to crop your 3rd picture on your second post ;) Quote

For the Blur, I've put my apn on a stand, push the car and take the pic at the good time ! Brickdoctor : thanks, the position of braking of the truck is the principal idea of the moc, glad you enjoy : For the 3rd pic, oups, you're right, I've forgotten. Quote
lego-maniac Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 here is a more closely pic of the pick-up Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Is that alien becoming angry that his mate has been squished by the pickup? I hope this friendly mision does not turn into an invasion as a result? Quote
greg3 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Great set up.... love all the little details especially the tyre marks!! (great idea) And of course that spaceship's great... good luck in the comp. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Just fantastic 'lego-maniac', I agree with everyone else.....AWESOME braking effect on the old truck and also on the crashing of the space ship....or was it just a hard landing.....maybe the Claw might have helped ? Gee, those little green men are green on the inside as well ! Great work 'lego-maniac' and keep on the look out for little green men from Mars ! Quote
Legostein Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Hello! That's a remarkable diorama! The UFO is great as is the rest of the scene! It's a perfect example for motion caught in a single scene. It's not just the brekaing marks on the road, but also the deformed car and the cargo being subject to inertia. Very well done! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
