Timothy Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) we (LegendBricks.com)invited by 1 of HK big shopping mall as exhibition. The topic is world building, as I always build tall building, so i select this Dubai Burj Arab hotel, the challenge is the arch, each floor have different curve, difficult to combine together. It spend around 30,000 pcs brick and it take around 50 hours to build, i totally modify it 4 times to reinforce the structure. I mostly like the back of the building. Hope you enjoy! Tervlon Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Very, very well done. Terrific MOC and kudos to making such a large structure. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 ONE WORD TO YOU: AWESOME !!!!!!!! I was thinking more like...Impressive.(but awesome works just as well) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Fantastic and huge MOC! This seven stars Lego hotel looks just like the real one! I hope that lodgings here is more cheap than lodgings in the original one! I love the tennis field in the attic ...is there Agassi out there (like in the tv spot)? Quote
Waaltje Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 That is amazing! Can't wait to see more of your Moc's! \ Quote
Legoless Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Now this is a vastly more impressive model on every level than the frankly rather disappointing Lego Architecture Burj Khalifa (yeah- so that is the world's largest phallic symbol- a modern day Tower of Babel- but what a boring model of a rather dull building). Love the use of curves on the facade, and the water, which would probably look too deep blue in other MOCs looks right for this one. Congrats and look forward to seeing more! Quote
Cecilie Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 You just blew my mind... That is really impressive! That's a difficult building, and you've replicated all those details really well. Looks really good with the lighting too. . (And I can't help but drool over all that trans blue deliciousness ) Quote
prateek Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Awesome job! I could nitpick and say that the top portion should be more curved, but I wont Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Fantastic, excellent and AWESOME.....what a creation ! I till my hat to you 'Timothy' ! One of the hardest structures to MOC-build and you nailed ! Brick On 'Timothy' ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Wow, what a truly outstanding creation Timothy! This is simply brilliant (figuratively and literally), I really like the effective usage of the curved slopes and the interior lighting just takes this to a whole new level. Very impressive work! dr_spock Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Impressive. Awesome job, looks like the real thing. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Awesome creation 'Timothy'! This looks like it was quite a difficult build from the curves of the actual tower. You did a great job recreating it. Spot on! Excellent job Quote
Niku Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 It is a great, fantastic, awesome Moc¡ I want to check in. Quote
Zorbas Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 First of all, welcome to Eurobricks Timothy (and what an entrance that was!). You can always introduce yourself here if you want and tell us a little bit about yourself. About the MOC now, this is more than impressive, well done! Your creation looks fantastic and very close to the real building. You've used the majority of the pieces in a brilliant way (the curved pieces and the trans-blue bricks are a perfect choice and produce a great final result) and the details both on the building itself and the surroundings area are just excellent. I can see that there are some interior details too. Do you happen to have any photos to share too? Overall a shiny, luxurious MOC! Thanks for sharing your creation with us! (Btw, could you resize and post smaller pictures, no bigger than 800x600? It's the maximum picture size allowed in EB and it will make your topic look even better. Thanks! ) Quote
Andy D Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Just one word... Amazing! Looking forward to seeing more of your creations. Andy D Quote
