xwingyoda Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Guys, usually I'm fed up of posting some MOCs found on BS, but I wanted to share this thing of beauty with you 8- Quote
Shakar Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I saw this a few days ago. I agree, it's beutiful. The design is very reminiscent oof a Japanese building, and it looks like minifig scale. Great MOC with lots of nifty details (like the statues and the bamboo at the entrance, and the abundance of flags). Shakar Quote
highlandcattle Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Which sets are those samurai helmets from? I've been out of the running for a few year (like 10 ;) ) Quote

On one hand I only ever see crummy stars wars and harry potter lego (decent sets but I don't like the themes). And on the other hand Those big ugly knights and bionicle. Quote
Starwars4J Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 I'm sure they were on sale in Belgium, but they were out awhile ago, about 7 years back in 1999. If you're really interested in the sets, I'm sure you could buy some on Bricklink. Quote

Yeah, they were available in Belgium. I got the minifig pack, but alas, my parents didn't give me any of the other sets. Quote
Norro Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Very nice! It retains a lot of the original Lego line which is interesting in a large MOC. Thanks for posting this and God Bless, Nathan Quote
SuvieD Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Great castle. One of the best I have seen. The color scheme is perfect and the size and sheer detail in the MOC is perfect. The Ninja theme needs to have a round two soon. Come on LEGO, please!!! X-D Quote
Captain Roger Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 this is one of the best mocs i have seen in my life...I LOVE IT! *wub* Is strange seeing a pirate like me using that smilie but this japanese castle is great...I'd like to can play with it...good piece of art Quote
Sir Dillon Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Thanks for sharing! This is indeed a beautiful creation. Everything is well done. I've always wanted to build something like this, but can never get the style right, plus I never seem to have enough roof pieces. Quote
xwingyoda Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 I also think this MOC shows something else: the great use of those inclined printed rock wall parts !! Some of you will just argue that they are way too <insert that tiresome argument> (I'm surprised that nobody did that remark yet hehe), but I think they look perfect here !! This clearly shows that those kind od parts can be seen in beautifull MOCs Take that you sceptics :-D :-P *yoda* Quote

This clearly shows that those kind od parts can be seen in beautifull MOCs I actually like those pieces, though when used in creations that aren't Ninja they usually don't look very good. (Keith Goldman is great at using these just about anywhere) But if used right, I think they look good. :-) Quote
Brick Miner Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 the size coupled with the retaining of a LEGO building style is what is most suprb about this MOC. not that it is purely a LEGO style construction, but very reminicent of it. it would blend seamlessly with offical LEGO releases for sure. the overall shape is very very nice, but to call this MOC near perfect is slightly forgiving... i actually think the colors are too bland. plus, i would need to see images of the interior before making such a call. - BM Quote
spotfrog Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I don't think there is an interior. This is just a nicely ornamented prop; you can see straight through the windows to the wall, plus there are no pictures of the back. The design concept is very traditional (with great results), but it would have been better if there were some little details to break up the completely white areas. Quote
Brick Miner Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I don't think there is an interior.well, technically, the other side of the exterior wall panels is the interior, even if you can see straight through. in most official LEGO SYSTEM designs you can see straight through the building... LEGO seemed to only need three of the four walls of an enclosed building to justify an interior. :-D - BrickMiner Quote
