Solscud007 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Earlier I took my bobafett Keychain (old type) and usd my Strider Knife to split the waist/hips from the torso, it was easy to break the glue seal and not damage the pieces. I took my TLG USB minifig and did the same thing. To my surprise the original red torso is a regular lego torso. So I grabbed one of the Senate Commandos and put the torso onto the USB stick. IT WORKS!!!! Sadly the USB legs are blue so there are not too many Blue legged figures in SW besides Senate Commando, Jango Fett, and Besbin Guard. However maybe you guys could use this for something you like. Quote
prateek Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 That's amazing! Great find! Only if Lego made different coloured USB legs, then we can have so many other good looking combinations! Quote
Sam Vimes Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 That's cool, how you did the USB Drive Lego thing. Also, what is a Strider Knife, is it anything like something from Lord of the Rings. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Nice discovery, Solscud! Could see this being better in themes other than SW, but still. Also, what is a Strider Knife, is it anything like something from Lord of the Rings. Clicky. At least I think that's what he means. Quote
LuxorV Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Thanks for sharing, Solscud007. Justone question: how does it work when you have to remuve the USB from your PC/notebook port? Do you have to grab the leg part only? Does the torso come off as easily as I think or is it sturdy enough you can pull it and the legs together? (Ok, that makes for 3 questions, but they are all on the same subject, aren't they? ) Quote
Solscud007 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 1. Yes Strider knife is a brand of hard use knives. It has a very thick blade. So it is like a wedge. It is very sharp. I split the seam between the torso and the hips. I just gently insert the blade all along the circumference of the hips moving the hips slowly away from the torso. 2. Yes the friction from the hips is strong enough to stay in place when removing the minifig from the computer. However his helmet is a different story all together. Quote
