Omicron Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I am pleased to announce that BrickForge has added another new color to their palette: Army Green. Commonly referred to as "olive drab", this color was originally introduced as an exclusive for CustomMinifigs.com. Perfect for modern warfare minifigs! Released in this color is the Ammo Pouch, Backpack (screenprinted with US), Canteen, Shovel, Grease Gun, and the Solider Helmet (with two different varietys: Sarge and Medic). Make sure to grab hold of these, because they are sure to sell out quick. So quit reading my post already and visit the store! And while you're at, you should be checking out the two figures that introduced these items (as well as the other figs) at CustomMinifigs.com! -Omi Quote
Aanchir Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Not too fond of custom parts that don't match any existing colors... but then again, I hardly ever buy custom parts (only gotten a couple in my life, and only at Brickfair), so I guess I'm not the target market anyway. As long as you're following the custom brick buyers' demand, no reason to limit yourself in any way! On a side note, I expect I might be making some Brickforge purchases at the next Brickfair, since one of my favorite Brickforge parts-- the Centaur-- is now available in some more colors I had been hoping for like white and black. If I could make a recommendation for another color, I'd love to see the Centaur in light bluish gray to match the horse coming out later this year in Kingdoms-- but since Brickforge doesn't currently seem to offer light bluish gray, I guess that will have to wait until there's a higher demand for a wider range of parts in that color. No worries you're not the first person to ask about that color. Not sure why it isn't in the palette, but I'll make note of it for Kyle. Not too fond of custom parts that don't match any existing colors... Yanno funny thing is, this color wasn't going to happen for that very reason. But considering it is only a few items, it makes sense. -Omi Quote
Joey Lock Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I don't get why you missed out the most needed item? A plain army green helmet. I was gonna use it for soldiers but its either a medic or a helmet with a strange Chevron that was never printed on a helmet. I don't get why people complain about the colours, it works well! Quote

You could always remove the print to make them plain. And I'm sure Armothe will have plain ones down the road. :) -Omi Quote
Baylego Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I must have that color. If only TLG made bricks in this color... Quote
Buckshot Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Those look good, Omicron! I hope you guys have a booth at Brickworld again--I'll be looking for these! Quote
Flare Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Too bad LEGO hasn't released this color... it would be hard to fit in with other pieces when it is a completely different color. Whats wrong with dark green? Or have you guys already done that? (if so silly me ) Quote

Should be no problem with matching since it is basically accessories that are only in this color. :) -Omi Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Very fascinating! I will surely come around to getting some of these sometime. Quote
