Matn Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Cosplaying men dressing up as a feminine character: it's not uncommon. Barry, however, takes it a step further. He dressed up as a young girl! Theme: Kick-Ass (Film/comic) Character: Hit-Girl Costume Cost: around 2 Euro for the materials used. I already had the LEGO parts and the Brickforge Utility Belt was generously given by Seijitai. Images at: Flickr and Brickshelf Barry and his friends are really into Kick-As s, one of the best films of 2010. When he and his friends decided to go dressed as their favourite characters to the convention, Barry had drawn the shortest straw. It was decided: Barry had to go as Hit-Girl, a young girl. In the films she's small but very strong, athletic and good with weapons. Barry is none of those, but luckily he fits in the leather outfit, although his bodily roundings come out a bit. I got this idea at the very beginning of the contest and I was very excited to work it out. I already had the parts and then I got the Brickforge Utility Belt, again kindly donated by Seijitai, but it took a while before I painted the headgear and the belt and printed the skirt and face. The paint on the belt came out a bit strange because it's a different kind of plastic, but it's not a big deal to me. The skirt and facial design are made by me. I really like the way the skirt has come out. I didn't make a decal for the headprint, it's normal printed paper, because really small decals don't come out so good. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result, it's like I imagined it. I hope you also like it! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Very nice entry Matn! You sure are living up to your Magenta magician monicker alright. I love the combination of the dude face, purple hair, and the girly outfit, it really looks cool for a cross-dressing cosplayer, but somehow gives me the creeps looking at him. I wish you luck in the competition! Quote
