74louloute Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 The scariest Halloween night ever Tonight, M. Hick and his two childs knocked to a door of a really strange house. The door open itself in a shrill squeal... They walk into the house, and at the moment they walk into the lounge, a stream of cold air was felt... This MOC was build to experiment a really old trick : the pepper ghost. You can see here an explanation of the trick here. So no photoshop involved in this MOC ! It was really difficult to take a picture of this because of the glass in front of the MOC and the darkness. I hope you enjoy this (as I enjoyed making this) ! Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I've been meaning to try this. Looks like you beat me too it! Nice work. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Wow, that's truly a remarkable shot! Looks like it's 'shopped but it isn't, so great job on pulling-off the desired ghost effect! Oh, and of course, lots of great details too on the vig, like the effective use of the furnace light brick and the MF arms for the table. Another for you 74louloute! Quote
Piratedave84 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 WOW!!! The MOC itself is really cool, I especially love the chandelier very clever design!!! Old trick with the shot, always very nice when it works though, the effect is perfect here!!! Pirate Quote
Zorbas Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Old skool FX! Great idea 74louloute and brilliant execution. I wasn't aware of this particular techique so thanks for bringing it into attention. Excellent minifig choice btw. Creepy! Quote
Brickviller Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 That's soo cool, Never seen before something liket his in my life (I mean the mirror thing) I know that trick but in Lego it looks so awesome Quote

Zorbas Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Wow, great photoshop effect. So no photoshop involved in this MOC ! Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 That looks great! I'll keep this trick in mind, it seems to work really well. It also seems a bit hard to do correctly, but you did a great job Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 You executed this trick very well! Great work! Quote
prateek Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 That is amazing! I saw this on Magic School Bus, and it's even better in Lego! Quote
The Soup Nazi Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Magic School Bus, Wait, magic school bus? Anyways, I really like how you didn't 'shop it and you did a brilliant effect to give it that 'creepy ghost' effect. Quote
prateek Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Wait, magic school bus? Yes... Why do you ask? Quote
The Soup Nazi Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yes... Why do you ask? I've seen every single magic school bus episode and there isn't a 'phantom/ghost' one (correct me if I'm wrong) Quote
Lego Freak Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Woah, that's just too cool. Amazing work. Quote
prateek Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I've seen every single magic school bus episode and there isn't a 'phantom/ghost' one (correct me if I'm wrong) Episode 31: "Gets a Bright Idea" Janet (from Gets Lost in Space and Butterfly And The Bog Beast) was disappointed by the all-school field trip to a light show, considering that she wanted to see a magic show. She tells the class she could do a magic trick, but she can't because of the ghost that haunts the theater. When the class leaves the theater they find Arnold missing. When they enter the theater again, they see Arnold's "ghost." Keesha, the skeptic, is convinced that it is really a trick done by Janet to scare them. From Wikipedia. It's the one where Arnold gets lost in a theatre and they see his ghost but then discover the trick Quote
74louloute Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 Thanks everybody, I'm glad you were pleased (scared ? ) by this MOC ! It was really long to get a good picture of the ghost : most of the time, my camera focuses on the glass in front of the MOC... By the way the glass itself is Lego ! So this MOC is 100% Lego ! Quote
