castlestrike666 Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Dear Colleagues After a few weeks of intensive building, the church of Olloy is finally finished, and here's the result! Comment/criticism is welcome Enjoy! Flickr Gallery (More photos in the Flickr gallery) Kind Regards Kenny. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Wow, thats pretty neat. I love old churches like that.... Overall, very good with the details. The windows and spire are great. My only minor gripe is the statue has black hands/waist...but, its not enough to detract from the model. I like it! Quote
Bingo Little Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Well, this looks awesome. After seeing all the amazing architecture, why it is that my first thought is "I really like how he did the tulips on that grave"? Anyway, the rest of it's brilliant as well. With a model that size, I wonder if it could use more figures... however, they'd probably just make it cluttered. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 This is simply amazing! You pretty much captured the overall old church feel in your creation. The use of various shades of grey gives it a textured look, and the details are very articulate. Impressive job castlestrike666! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Well done on a massive build mate Love the stairs, the imposing nature of the church and the many fancy details on the walls. It must be tricky to photograph something this big. Quote
squiz Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 This is cracking! Had a look in your flickr folder and its a spot on rendition of the real life church. The structural details are great. I also like the fallen leaves from the trees, thats a nice touch. Is there an interior ? Quote
castlestrike666 Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) This is cracking! Had a look in your flickr folder and its a spot on rendition of the real life church. The structural details are great. I also like the fallen leaves from the trees, thats a nice touch. Is there an interior ? Thank you all! I really appreciate the kind words! I tried my best to make it as real looking as possible. I never saw the real version, so it had to be done by photos. There's no interior though. Basically because I never saw it, and also because I'm planning a few other creations for which every piece I have will come in handy The church should stay untouched for a few months, so the less pieces I loose, the better for my other projects Edited September 20, 2010 by castlestrike666 Quote
Tervlon Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Wonderful MOC. This is amazing. I'm so glad you shared it. An inspirational build to be sure. Quote
Fires-storm Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Wow, well done on this beauty! The detail is superb, as well as the level of attention payed to it to make it seem realistic. This is an excellent build, keep bricking! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Wow, she is huge! So many details as well. I can't wait to see it in real. I only have one suggestion though, have you considered stained glass? It would add even more detail, and it would stretch the ammount of colours as well. Quote
