501st Commando Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Here's my latest MOC, a Republic Space station. My main inspiration was Cloud City, the round shape made it a challenge, so I went for that look. I also wanted to keep it very Republic like, so I went with the white and dark red color for the main colors and some bleys, and trans blue to break it up a bit. I'm not used to building at miniscale, so C@C is welcome. Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Oooh, great! Looks like a entry from the LDD contest. But did they have space stations in SW? Quote
501st Commando Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Oooh, great! Looks like a entry from the LDD contest. But did they have space stations in SW? Thanks, and I believe they had space stations in the CW TV show. I'm not sure what episode though. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Oooh, great! Looks like a entry from the LDD contest. But did they have space stations in SW? "That's no moon..." Quote
Fallenangel Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Oooh, great! Looks like a entry from the LDD contest. But did they have space stations in SW? If the Death Star isn't a space station, then what is? And let's not forget that even the prototype for that space station was conceived in a space station. And there are many more... Quote
Oky Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) That's pretty good! I like it. It reminds me of the Republic medical stations from the Clone Wars TV show: By the way, what's up with you and SuperKalle having the same avatar? Edited September 9, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Not bad looking space station '501st Commando' - I believe that in CW they are used as medical outposts for treating the clones wounded in battle. Great work and I'm a conformist! '501st Commando' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Baylego Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Cool space station! I like the concept of space stations in Star Wars a lot. How did you get those parts of the station to be rounded like that? Quote
CMP Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Great mini space station, I especially love the greebs. By the way, what's up with you and SuperKalle having the same avatar? I think it's a defualt from Eurorbricks. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) Great MOC 501st Commando! The techniques that you employed to create a circular design are very well-executed. It does look like a cross between the Cloud City and the clone medical space station in the CW series. The antenna-less round pieces are very unique details. The mini-Republic cruisers are also very cleverly built - they could even be separate mini-MOCs themselves. Great overall job! Edited September 10, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
501st Commando Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 Cool space station! I like the concept of space stations in Star Wars a lot. How did you get those parts of the station to be rounded like that? Many 1x2 and 1x4 click hinges. Great mini space station, I especially love the greebs. I think it's a defualt from Eurorbricks. Yes, it is one from the EB avatar database. @-Thanks for the great comments everyone! Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Wow. This is great! You should try the medical station. Quote
Admiral Ron Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 That looks great! It does indeed look like a cloud city/medical center, now you just need to make a minifig size version Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Thats cool. I would never think of making something that big in minifigure scale! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 "That's no moon..." Well done, 501st Commando! Really like the shaping and the mini corvettes. Quote
