WesternOutlaw Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Welcome to the Town Forum and to EB Elkapitan. I think this creation delivers just the right amount of elements from the PoP collection to still maintain a Cafe Corner-like style and charm. Good luck with the interior and make sure to share some additional pictures after you add the furnishings. Front-paged! Quote
metalgearsolid Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Oh well done elkapitan, very nice! Really like the chocolate colored statue and multi-layer arches on the 2nd floor. Hope to see the interiors soon! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 This is excellent Elkapitan, Looking forward to seeing some more MOC's from you Quote
gotoAndLego Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Two POP modulars at the same time, what are the odds of that. LOL. Quote
Fires-storm Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Wow, this is amazing, it has actually inspired me to possibly build even more new stuff! I love the detail, the design of the arches, the color scheme, and the very unique design theme of the entire thing. Well done, and keep bricking! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 AWESOME modular creation 'elkapitan' - beautiful combo of city and PoP - I really like the frontage with the PoP arch pieces - so COOL ! Congrat's on being front paged and I'm a conformist! 'elkapitan' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
marvinblue Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Hi there elkapitan! Well done with your MOC! It looks fantastic! I'm a little confused though; is it meant to be a shop (with a statue on the awning), or is it meant to be a safe house for the Persian baddie (don't know his name) with the Persian architecture and the armed guard down the bottom? Either way it looks grerat and would like to see some pics of your interior when you've finished it! Quote
elkapitan Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) Wow thank you The Brickster and im honored to be front-paged here on EB. Vincent Kessels Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 That is a great building. I love the colors and the little details. The corner is well done. And the statue is also nice, but I would have expected double doors below it. Quote
Legostein Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) Hello! What I really like best about this great building is, besides all the details already mentioned, the fact that it brings more cultural diversity to "Cafe-Corner"-styled architecture. Well done! Cheers, ~ Christopher Edited August 22, 2010 by Legostein Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 That's what you call a grand entrance - truly very impressive creation elkapitan! Even if the PoP elements are very distinct the design still looks very original - I love the alternating cheese slopes-gold round 1x1 plates detail. Welcome once again to EB and hope to see more of your creations here. Quote
Zzz Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Amazing creation, love your minifigs! The blond swept back hair on Indy is great! Would love to hear the background story! What's going on here, what about the pistol or the dagger? Quote
IagoParrot Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 That's awesome! Really nice design! When you get pictures of the interior, please post them. Can't wait to see them!! Quote
kingrixy Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I Really Like this I have been wondering what to do with my POP stuff , that I got on clearance, was just going to use elements here and there, this is great use of these items I really love the Indian Business men, and the double arch on the top floor, I am working on a modular using the medieval market town, and after that I may have to bite your styles and make a Persian restaurant next door, well done.. for giving me the inspiration with your great MOC. This isn't a bump for me, but if you hunt down my thread for Nizam's Persian Restaurant MOC it has other usage examples of the POP elements. There was also a big POP MOC contest a little while ago which shows other parts usage, albeit heavier on the POP feel. Quote
