Brickdoctor Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Well, I built this for a contest over on MOCpages, but rest assured, it far exceeds the level of most MOCs on that site. I am aware that the STAP should be all brown, but the piece I used for the front of the engines is only available (as far as I know ) in gray. I decided, since it was the perfect shape, to use it and then make the 'wings' gray also. Overall, I like the effect, which offsets the use of gray pieces in the body. Besides, according to the Episode 1 Vehicles book, the Trade Federation used cheap paints and sealants on their vehicles, which is why many of the vehicles in Episode 1 were already 'battle damaged' and scorched. I'm addicted to small vehicles (AT-RTs, 74-Zs, BARCs, and the like), but I wanted an original twist for the competition I was in. (suffice it to say that I would have been annihilated by the opposition had I chosen to build a minifig-scale STAP. Quote

Did you ever think of also making a tactical droid? The body looks like it would work quite well. By the way, what does all of the Aurebesh on the pictures say? I don't want to look it all up. Quote
