5919 In the Valley of the Kings - Theme: Adventurers (Desert)

This is an LDD 4 model.

5919 In the Valley of the Kings

Once again, I've used Calabar's outstanding brick-built sarcophagus to replace the sarcophagus and cover inside the building.

The car has been redesigned, because it uses the sarcophagus as its body. I've tried to stay close to the original design of a sleek single-seater.

The other substitution is minor. The trap door at the front of the building (under Baron von Barron's feet) has stops made with two 2452 Hinge Plate 1 x 2 with 3 Fingers On Side pieces, which aren't in LDD. I substituted 32028 Plate 1x2 with Slide.

As usual, there are no printed pieces.

5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise - Theme: Adventurers (Desert)

This is an LDD 4 model.

5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise

Once again, I've used Calabar's outstanding brick-built sarcophagus.

Several obsolete pieces have been replaced with their modern counterparts: the car windshield, the hinged door under the tall obelisk, and a yellow goblet.

The paper tent does not exist in LDD.

The biggest substitution is the baseplate. I've created a brick-built replica that has the proper shapes and elevations to show all the studs in the correct places. The entire baseplate is colored 283 Light Nougat, to differentiate it from the set's tan pieces. To revert to the original set's inventory, simply remove all of the Light Nougat pieces.

As usual, there are no printed pieces.

The yellow goblet actually should be available-- although the one you used is different and is sometimes used in place of the regular cone-shaped goblet, it did not replace the cone-shaped one. The goblet you're looking for is part 6269, so plugging that into the search bar should give that to you.

The search function is IMO one of the most useful tools added to LDD version 4. The ability to type in specific angles for the hinge tool is also up there with it in terms of usefulness.

According to the BrickLink inventory, it's 2343 Minifig, Utensil Goblet, which isn't in LDD.

10175 - UCS Darth Vader's TIE Advanced - Theme: Star Wars

previewug.jpg

This set is already in the index: clicky But I wanted to build it so things were connected. I had to modify some of the instructions to get it to work but I am very pleased with the outcome.

I have a question about the colors of set 7181 TIE Interceptor. The colors from the Bricklink inventory clicky show Black, Dark Gray and Light Gray. When you go to page 10 of the instructions from TLG clicky, the difference between the dark gray and the black is clear in step #2, but the inventory shows those two pieces as both being black.

Advice?

Calabar:

I reported the wrong set number when posting the Dozer, the correct number is 7685, not 7865 default_blush.gif. The post has been updated accordingly, please include it in your next index update.

7712 - Supernova - Theme: EXO-FORCE

7712-supernova-sm.png

LXF File

This model is accurate to the instructions, except:

  • Takeshi's torso print and face weren't available, so I used alternatives.
  • Vladek's sword wasn't available, so I used Tahu's instead.
  • The flex hose isn't the right piece, but hey, it flexes! It was quite hard to fiddle with though. Additionally, I cannot seem to connect it properly again, so its current configuration is approximate.
  • I couldn't find the 2x4 clear light brick, so I mocked one up.
  • As you can see, there are no decals either.

-Toa Of Justice

EDIT: Updated to LDD 4.3.8, Brick Version 1564.2. Besides disconnecting the flex hose from its attachment point on the torso, I also had to angle the black liftarms up 9 degrees (and adjust the windscreen and minifigure) so the medium stone gray 6134 Plate 2x2 (Rocking) in the back could fit into place.

EDIT 2: Here is the previous image I used for this post, featuring the staff aligned with the sun in the background.

Is it okay to post unreleased sets? (i.e. the new Star Wars BPs?) :sweet:

If so, I've got them ready.

@prateek

No, as topic's rules report, only officially released sets are allowed.

Wait the set will be released, and then post it here!

@Tore M

Thanks! Will be fixed in the next index update.

7181 - UCS TIE Interceptor - Theme: Star Wars

This set is already in the index by yellost: clicky The instructions call for a piece for the wings that is no longer in LDD. There seems to be a "kinda" replacement for it but it's 1 stud thinner and doesn't have the notch. The replacement sort of works, as you can see in yellost's post but I didn't like the look of it. I modified the wings, making them longer and more appealing to me. I know it isn't "official", which is why it won't be indexed, although technically yellost's post is modified too. I like the way this turned out.

I may need to change my gray colors around, but I don't trust the inventory just yet due to a question I had a couple posts up...

Both of these pieces are available on LDD. They are parts 60583 and 41669, respectively. 41669 is even available in every mode: Universe, DBM, Mindstorms, and Creator.

I used the codes in the instructions and bricklink to search for them in LDD with the 'search' fuction, both came up blank *huh*

Edit:

Found them, different code and discription from BL and instructions.....

Usually, when the Bricklink ID doesn't match the official LEGO ID, the piece either doesn't have the part number printed on it or has the part number very hard to read. This is the case with the BIONICLE eye piece, as well as a lot of other small and irregularly-shaped pieces. I'm surprised that the 1x1x3 with two clips doesn't have the correct number, though.

Another condition where Bricklink ID doesn't match up with LEGO ID is when a new version of an existing piece is released. Often, Bricklink will just add a "B" to the older part number. In some cases this is justified, as a new version of an older part sometimes won't have a new part number if the changes are minimal enough. But other times it is an error on Bricklink's part.

You can use LDD Manager to find parts. I've made this mapping between LDD and BrickLink ID's.

Set # 7632

Name: Crawler Crane

Theme: City, Construction

Errors:

Technic, Pin Long without Friction Ridges Lengthwise does not fit all the way through.

Strangely enough I managed to attach the peg by doing like this:

1) Remove the wheel

2) Remove one of the black 3176 COUPLING PLATE

3) Place the technic peg (it will connect to the remaining 3176)

4) Put back the other 3176 COUPLING PLATE (notice how the technic pge now connects to both plates)

5) Place the wheel

6) Done

I have now clue why it will work when done in this "reversed" order, but it does.

Welcome to Eurobricks!

The post is almost correct, but you only have to say if it's already in the index or not. And I think the picture is a little too big. You can resize it, or cut all the white edges off.
