What do you mean by upward. Please try to be more specific on the forum.

BTW, I find that using the browsers Find-function is great for finding if a set is done

This would be nice, but you could always use the search function (Ctrl + F) to find a set you're looking for.

Hi!

I use the order you see in the index for tree reasons mainly:

- Ordering by set's number would require more time and efforts to create the index. As the topic grows fast, I can't increase my workload. That's why I often ask users to follow topic's rules, every contribute to light indexer's work is an important help.

- In this way I don't loose informations about realization order of the sets inside a theme.

- simply using browser's search function (usually Ctrl+F, or automatic with digitation like I use in Firefox), order became absolutely trifling.

I knew Calabar had the answer - he always does

(I particularly can understand the "minimize workload" aspect. This topic has got to be one of the fastest growing on Eurobricks).

UPDATE 11/18/2010: Updated to LDD 4. Several errors have been corrected. A lot still remain, however.

Alright; here's a biiiiiig project I've been working on, since the instructions were posted to Brickset just recently.

852293 Castle Giant Chess Set

Part 1: Chess Pieces

852293_castle_giant_chess_set.png

LDD file

Errors:

  • Any parts in color 132 (Bricklink name is Speckle-Black Metallic) have been colored the non-existent color 322.
  • Any prints not available have been left blank.
  • The mounted soldiers (white knights) cannot be placed on their horses. They can be found in Part 3: Unplaceable Parts.
  • The red snake which the witch (black queen) is supposed to carry cannot be held by a minifig. It can be found in Part 3: Unplaceable Parts.
  • All chrome gold parts have been colored 127 Gold. All metallic gold parts have been colored 147 Sand Yellow Metallic.
  • The evil wizard's cape is not available.

Part 2: Chessboard

852293_castle_giant_chess_set_2.png

LDD file

Errors:

  • Any replacement parts have been colored 124 bright reddish violet. This includes 2x6 bricks used in place of the unavailable 4x6 bricks.
  • Two of the axes on the good side of the board are supposed to have medium stone grey (light bley) crown shields. These cannot be placed and may in fact be an illegal connection. The shields can be found in Part 3: Unplaceable Parts.
  • The Dwarves’ Mine has several unplaceable parts: a black wrench and hammer that are supposed to sit loose in a barrel, a metallic gold crystal that is supposed to fit underneath a 1x2x3 inverse slope, a lantern that is supposed to fit inside the 1x1 round brick with fins/wings, a reddish brown lightsaber blade that is supposed to fit on the outcropping (this is almost certainly an illegal connection), and two wagon wheels that are supposed to fit on said lightsaber blade. These can all be found in Part 3: Unplaceable Parts.
  • The Skeleton Jail has a few unplaceable parts: a bat that is supposed to hang upside-down from a black robot hand (impossible due to a render error on the bat, which lacks a bar hole on the underside) and a pair of handcuffs which are supposed to be worn by the imprisoned skeleton. These can be found in Part 3: Unplaceable Parts.
  • The main board construction has a two unplaceable parts: a flame to be placed in the dragon's mouth on both sides of the board. These can all be found in Part 3: Unplaceable Parts.
  • The banner for the Troll Camp is unavailable.
  • Any prints not available have been left blank.

Part 3: Unplaceable Parts

852293_castle_giant_chess_set_3.png

LDD file

Errors:

  • Any prints not available have been left blank.
  • All chrome silver parts have been colored 131 Silver (pearl light gray). All metallic gold parts have been colored 147 Sand Yellow Metallic.

Lot of errors, but that's because this is a big set.

Tks, tag "incomplete" added.

But I think AndyC will update the file soon, now that someone has noticed it.

Note that there is another 6234 in this topic, post #450, built by Ashir. ;)

EDIT: Oops, Ashir is you!

Congratulations on spotting the, um, deliberate mistake. You win the prize!

Fixed (that'll teach me to check the last picture in the instructions!) so you can remove the Incomplete tag now (and also from 7683 Fight on the Flying Wing, as I added the minifigs to that a while back)

Well done!

but 6234 seems to be not fixed still (only the picture has been updated).

It definitely works here, are you sure you don't have a cached copy? I seem to find Brickshelf sometimes doesn't invalidate cached copies when it should.

I'll give my little share to this topic.

10024 Red Baron

red-baron.jpg

I had to replace a few hinge plates which make a bit of an ugly offset on the rudders (dunno if it's the right word for it, it's the things on the back wings that go up and down to control the plane) and the pieces used to make the stick don't exist anymore, so I couldn't use them either... And LDD doesn't want me to use the windows to make the seat guess it's not quite a legal connection... and finally, the brown thingies used for the landing gears don't quite connect but they were a hell of a pain to place, so I made as best I could...

Yes, it is a problem related to the cache.

When I tried before I simply refreshed the page without using cache, but it seems not to be enough.

So I used my secondary browser and I got the correct file! :classic:

Set: 5891-1 - Apple tree house

Theme: Creator

Great job there ashir! However can you please check so that you have used the correct colors, and then update your post with a new jpg and LXF. The roof should for example be Dark Blue. The patio and other trimings should be Tan etc. (All using BrickLinks color terminology).

A small point. This set was allready done in LDD some time ago. IF you check the index first, you will see it's been done. Naturally you can do it anyway if you want to, but the nicest would be if you did a set no one else has done :classic:

Well I used the more closer colors in LDD...

And yes, I saw, after uploaded, that it was already done. You or calabar can delete it. It hasd no point haven two.

Alternative models are ever appreciated, so no work will be deleted.

Every model has ever some little difference from others, for example I modified the model adding groups (very useful with modular buildings).

Obviously non alternative models are more appreciated.. ...but don't mind!

About roof colour, I noticed it is too clear too. It is easy to see that looking at the screenshot.

You can download the model already indexed to compare colours and see the difference.

Fantastic job yellost! I have this model with real bricks, and just love it. That and the british plane...

I did it right after I got my hands on the Sopwith Camel. I had to see what that red baron looked like. And now I finally found a real one. I'm expecting it anytime soon :sweet:

And my next acquisition will most definitely be this one :

10124 Wright Flyer

wright_flyer2.jpg

It's only missing the chain links which I couldn't find and the ropes which I couldn't place. The tips of the wings have been a little modifiedfor lack of the right piece. And most of the hinges are only connected on one side. Those things are a real pain in somwhere very dark to use in LDD. I never quite manage to make them connect on both sides. If someone has a special technique to do it, it's most welcome. I hope it'll be really improved in the future versions of the software...

LXF File

But those old planes have a real charm to them... I wish TLC would make more...

EDIT : Updated to the official "brick yellow" color.

Beautiful job on this one too. Love it.

(But I didn't quite get it about the Sopwith Camel - did you allready make that one in LDD, or is it in the pipeline :classic: )

EDIT: Just noticed that the tan color is not really tan in your model but the similar "Light Nougat". If you can replace it with tan (or Brick Yellow as Lego calls it) and update the post, that'd be super.

7744 Police HQ

lddscreenshot3.png

LXF file is here:

LXF for 7744

Standard mistakes, such as not having stickers and having substitute prints. The garage doors are not connected to anything, because they couldn't be. Also, I had to use the odd "bubble" face on one of the police minifigures because it represented the neccesary face.

Garage doors actually do work. The trick is to add them to the model one piece at a time-- for instance, if you want the garage doors closed, place the bottom piece as low as it can be placed, then attach the next piece and so on. I did it on a Fire Brigade I made (unfortunately, I got stalled when I got to the roof layer and someone else did that set anyway).
