Restiance is futile!

(I love your post CallMePie! Sometimes you just have to laugh about the whole geekines of it all :classic: )

You're right, CallMePie.

It's the oh-so sad truth. Sometimes I just feel like screaming 'Get a life!' to you guys.

Hi, the lxf file in the post I quoted is referred to the same set you already reported previously (ie it is a modification/fix of the model you reported previously), please edit the previous post with the corrected lxf file and delete the link from here (add a link to you previous post instead).

The reason is that, in order to help to built the index, there should be only one post for a specific set. :classic:

Sorry for the late reply, but I'm not sure what you mean - I only made one post in this topic, so there's no other posts for me to edit! Do you mean that you want Randal to edit his own post with my final LXF file? Edited by ILikePi

Hehe, probably well deserved. Must say though, as I'm currently off work recuperating from a stay in hospital, building some of my favourite sets in LDD has helped immensely to stave off the boredom. :classic:

Talking of which, a personal favourite and one of the few really big lego sets I had as a child:

6080 King's Castle - Theme: Castle

6080%20Kings%20Castle.png?dl_name=6080%20Kings%20Castle.png

LXF File

I brick built a little replacement for the missing pulley and obviously the string is missing, also LDD doesn't have the 16*22 basplates used at the back of the castle so I had to substitute (hence it sticking out slighty at the back). Model is grouped to make "play" features a little easier to work with I hope.

Edit: updated with some of Calabar's fixes and some colour tweaks. Updated to LDD4.

It seems you use Red instead than DkRed for the car.

Oh, crap. I was going to do the whole model in red then change it to dark red, but I forgot. I'll change it :classic::tongue:

@ILikePie - I think Calabar is away for a week, so you'll have to wait for a reply what he meant. No worries until then :classic:

Ah, thanks for telling me! I had no idea.

I already own this set myself, but I thought it would be interesting to make a brick-built tauntaun based off of the preliminary brick-built version that was shown in LEGO Star Wars - The Visual Dictionary:

7749 Echo Base

0001.png

LXF file

A whole bunch of changes were made because of missing parts and connections that only work in real life:

  • The tauntaun had to be brick-built; I used this picture (at the bottom left) from the Visual Dictionary as a reference when building it.
  • The cannon of the defense turret is supposed to have a lightsaber hilt connecting the two round pin joiners, but I had to use two Technic half pins and a lightsaber blade instead to connect the joiners.
  • The inside of the defense turret top has two of this piece, but they would not attach to the 3L Technic axle with stud, so I substituted each one with two 1 x 1 round plates instead.
  • This half cylinder piece does not exist in LDD, so I substituted it with a larger version instead.
  • Snowtrooper helmets don't exist in LDD, so I used blank stormtrooper helmets instead.
  • I built the model according to the box art, as it portrays the set the way it was meant to be built more accurately. In this case, the turret is on the left of the bunker and some of the cheese slopes on the top of the bunker are rotated.
  • The hose in this set does not exist in LDD, so I used a different type instead. It can't flex, so I just placed it on the ground. (The hose has been replaced with the correct piece and color, but still cannot flex)
  • The torso prints for Han Solo and the rebel troopers don't exist, as well as Han's face, so I used different designs.
  • The rebel troopers wear aviator goggles instead of the newer type.
  • SW blasters don't exist in LDD, so I used megaphone blasters and a space gun instead.
  • A 4 x 4 black turntable base for the turret was not used because it would not fit with the 4 x 4 round plate.

Oh, and the tauntaun had to be modified slightly to fit Han Solo on it. I've included a bonus light grey brick-built tauntaun, which is unmodified to my knowledge.

I'm here still!

I don't remember, but if you say that you made a single post, than there is no need to edit and your set can be posted as an alternate version!

I'll check about that later!

EDIT: I didn't realize the firs post was written by Randal! I'll add your version as alternate!

6080 King's Castle

If you want you can use my custom winch to complete the castle!

Besides, if you look at my castles (for example the knight castle) you can see that you can place the helmet over the footman's head (it is not connected, but it is over the head, at least!). You could copy one of my minifigs and use it to replace your naked heads with heads+helmets!

You can place the bar that closes the door if you want.

EDIT: there are millimetric reasons that prevent the bar to fit (another LDD tiles size issue?).

In order to place it I put the right 2x1 plate vertically (look here).

[*]The tauntaun had to be brick-built; I used this picture (at the bottom left) from the Visual Dictionary as a reference when building it.

Remember to place the custom tauntauns, and other custom pieces in the "Custom Bricks" topic!

[...](I had to build my own Kaadus ) [...]

The same as above

I'm beginning to suspect you guys are just computer programs in the Matrix, because you don't seem to do anything else but build, build, build in LDD. I'm actually using these models to build my own city in LDD.

I use LDD to make a comic strip, so I'm building every day.

Though, I'm dropping my Saturday and Sunday strips. Mon-Fri only for now.

@Lego lover

@professor flitwick

Some creation on your brickself are not available any more.

Folder "is not yet public".

Please correct the issue, so that your sets can be added to the index!

I've checked Brickshelf, still seems to be unpublic. I try again with them in the morning.

Also, not to be rude, how often do you update the front index? It's just I can foresee someone (likely me) doing one that's been made, but that isn't in the index.

In the mean time:

4711 - Flying Lesson

You can (hopefully) download it onto LDD here!

4733-1: The Dueling Club

Calabar is sometimes away for the week, so he can't update the Index then. We have an agreement about that since we estimated that's more than OK with weekly updates. If you want to know if a model has been done after the index was last updated, I guess the easiest way is to just browse the topic :classic:

This time, the castle I didn't have as a child but did spend countless hours drooling over in catalogue pictures. Having built it in LDD, it seems even better than my childhood dreams. Darn it, I may start having to collect classic castle lego as well!

6086 Black Knight's Castle - Theme: Castle

6086%20Black%20Knights%20Castle.png?dl_name=6086%20Black%20Knights%20Castle.png

LXF File

The hinge joints to the drawbridge are different as the required piece is missing. As it stands, that means the drawbridge wouldn't work properly, but I was trying to leave as much of the original pieces there as necessary.

Once again, kudos to SolidBrick for his awesome baseplate replacements too.

I took the Dino Hummer posted in here and built it's alternate version. I will post it when I have access to the computer I stored it on. The version posted here is the original set put out five years ago, which had a missile launcher pod on the back. It seems the entire line has been relaunched with traps instead of guns and ammo. I downloaded the attack version and reworked into this years set. The biggest difference is that a cage has replaced the missile launcher pod on the back.

Some time ago, I said I'd post these three models, which I am now doing. I used them in a comic a while back and keep forgetting to post them in here. Click on the images for the LXF files.

@Randal - Nice looking stuff  Two minor things: Regarding space sets, could you please post LDD screenshots instead of set photos, just for the conformity. And can you also please post the links to the LXF seprately instead of embedding with images. Makes a bit clearer. Thanks! (EDIT: The reds in this model should actually be Dark Red)

@Prateek - good find with that brick that will not accept technic pins. Concider it reported to Lego.
