marshal_banana Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi There! The UCS millennium falcon is brillinat, outstanding in termes of detail, but I was disappointed of the lame interior, so I build up the model from ground and adding a full movie accurate and detailed interior. It took me 4 moth to complete it. A strong base-plate was needed, because I had to remove every single supporting-beam in the core. At the beginning I had serious structural problems and the model collapsed several times. Now it's even stronger and heavier than the original construction! You can carry it with two hands. Overview: Some details: illumination: I added Lego-LEDs, for the realistic look. There are lights in the gunner-station, the loading ramp, three in the cockpit, the two front floodlights and in the cargo-bay. But the biggest investment was the "working" sublight engine. The solution is build in 100% lego no modified bricks. Total 16 Lego-LEDs (also 32 lights). The work isn't finished. I'm still working on some details... I hope you enjoy! Quote
fenris Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) i already saw this moc on flickr and have to say: GREAT! love the leds and the enhaced interior and had instantly a "want have" feeling... some details are amazing. would be no harm adding some more shots  just looked at it "large" on flickr and have to add: GREAT DETAILS!!!!! I NEED MORE PHOTOS!!!! Edited February 11, 2010 by fenris Quote
d00dz Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 OMG! WOW! This is very awesome. Excellent work there. Agreed needs more pictures! Quote
pedro Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Looks fantastic! You're work on the interior is really, really nice. Great level of detail. Light add that bit extra to the model too. Be great to see where you take it from this. Quote
drdavewatford Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 This is just fantastic ! I'm currently about two-thirds of the way through building my UCS Millenium Falcon - the superstructure is built, as is the 'skin' underneath and over the mandibles, but the inner structure is still open on the topside. Now I look at your MOC and wish that the official version had such a superb interior....! The LEDs are also an excellent addition - great job ! The 'official' UCS MF us shaping up to be magnificent, but you have taken it to the next level. Dr. D. Quote
Big Cam Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 UM, my jaw is on the floor. That is amazing, I don't own the set but I've heard the complaints, your pictures are really good, and the accuracy is stunning. This is truly impressive, 4 months!!!!! That's dedication, awesome work! Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Fantabulous! You hit the nail on the head. People just love fixing this ship up because there is no interior, but too many times have people completely butchered the ship for their own purposes. You were able to keep the beautiful outside 100% intact, while the inside now has room. Expert job! I couldn't possibly suggest anything better. EDIT: Just re-read this again. You can pick it up? I would've though the thing would be immobilized, but now it's even sturdier? And it light's up too! You deserve a prize. Edited February 11, 2010 by Darth Legolas Quote
John31388 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 WOW great details, You have a beautiful millennium falcon on your hands. Quote

Brickus Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 That's excellent, I love the interior, and the LEDs add something extra to the model. Quote
sok117 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 pardon my french but Holy Crap that thing is AWESOME, that is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. If Lego made the millenium falcon like that, I would honestly buy two. Great attention to detail. Did you watch the movie as you were building this? Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Most impressive marshal_banana! That interrior is spot on! Id have to say that this is one of the best Falcons Ive ever seen! I really like the shots you did looking into the cockpit and also looking at Luke in his gun turret. I agree with Fenris, more pics would be great! prateek Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 How on earth did you manage to fit all that detail into the crammed interior! I also really like the LEDs you put on it Quote
The Eye Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 That's amazing. I've never seen such a cool mod of an official set, it's really cool. I like the cockpit seats, and I have to say, your photography is excellent. Quote
RileyC Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Wow its amazing how much detail you added in that small space. It really is incredible! Great work! Quote
Blackheart Brit Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 This is in my top 3 things I have ever seen with LEGO. You took one of the biggest and best LEGO models and made it incredibly better. Your interior is so amazingly cool. I too would love to see many more pictures. It looks like you have many hallways and rooms and I bet even a refresher in their. You need to call NASA and let them know how your sub-light engines "work" you could a make a fortune Kidding aside this is really cool. Quote

I don't have the 10179 MF, yet but seeing this makes me want to get it. 1 question though: do you think you could post instructions or a tutorial? It is truly a sight to behold, Kudos! Quote
ILikePi Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 This is truly amazing! You've added tons of details to the interior, and I love it! Especially the chrome gold C-3PO near the Dejarik board game. I've always wanted to see something like this done the the UCS Millennium Falcon. Stunning work! I can't believe that I missed this. Thanks Mr.GanBit for reviving the topic! Quote
PattieCake Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Ha, Glad I could help! This mod deserves exposure and respect! Can't stop looking at those pictures... Quote
General Armendariz Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 If LEGO made there UCS Falcon like this, I would've bought it. Great job. Is there more pics?? Quote
marshal_banana Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) Hey guys. So I’m happy you like it! If LEGO would made the MF like this, it would be to expensive, probably double price. I’m sorry there are no instructions available, because it’s just to complex. At the moment I’m rebuilding some interior parts (cockpit, hallway, sleeping room, machine room...) so be prepared for all new pictures in the future. Cheers! GT-Vince Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 OMG It's beautiful, I can only say that... The light's make it spectacular, and I tought it was excellent in it's original state. You did a heck of a job... really... Quote
Future74 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Awesome MOD Great work on recreating scenes inside the MF, deadon, and your photography deserves credits, great shots inside I think Smokebelch can only agree with this! I love Luke Skywalker in his turret seat and the hallway picture. I see you put a lot of effort in the sublight engine but also the cockpit and frontlights, thats adding some great extra features! Well done, thumbs up Quote
