I've been using LDraw for a long time, but have only just tried to use the LGEO parts library. I downloaded the files and put them in my LDraw directory. I then opened L3PAO and told it where to find the LGEO files. But now I get an error message in L3PAO saying:

"Certain .TAB files needed for LGEO substitution appear to be missing.

L3PAdd-On will function properly, but LGEO library substitution may not be available.

You may want to check your LGEO install."

But what are the missing .TAB files? There is no mention of these anywhere in the LGEO documentation. Can anyone help me out?

Bit late of a reply, but the .tab files should be inside your LGEO folder, and are called l2p.tab, l2p_ELMT.tab, and l2p_ptrn.tab.

My ldraw folder structure looks like C:/LDraw/Apps/LGEO, and inside that folder, are the tab files. Just point l3pao to the LGEO folder and you should be good to go.

Also, this brickshelf gallery has a tutorial on how to get very realistic looking renders, Here

If done correctly, you can get results such as 8880.png

Hello all,

I got the same error and received the latest LGEO lib from

http://www.digitalbricks.org/data/lgeo.zip

but there are sadly NO! .tab files included.

C:\LEGO\Models>l3p -b -f -ca40 -q3 -lgeo -o testcar.mpd
Can't open C:\LDRAW\LGEO\[..\][LGEO\]L2P_ELMT.TAB
*** Abnormal termination.

Where can I download those missing files?

UPDATE:

Downloading currently the files from:

http://www.ldraw.org/GetStarted-Win.html

Probably it's included there (i first of all used single downloads and now the full package :-))

Don't know if that will solve my missing file problem.

Best regards

Mike
